I'm going to preface this by saying I never write reviews but it feels necessary due to my experience at Eugenio's.
The food is egregiously overpriced for what you get. My "NY Wagyu" tasted old and flavorless and the sauce on the pasta had an incredibly overpowering red wine flavor. I really cannot believe this slop has good reviews. I paid just shy of $150 for a meal here and it honestly shouldn't have cost more than $50. They're out here charging Little Italy prices selling Olive Garden level food. My girlfriend and I are foodies, and I gotta say, this place is bad. No idea how people are giving this place good reviews; the locals must be accustomed to eating slop from a trough if this is considered good.
We were sat at the patio, which was fine, until my girlfriend started to smell urine from her side of the table. It smelled as if someone had urinated in the corner of the outside patio section.
The one saving grace was our incredible server: he was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and had prompt service. I can't say it was enough to save the experience but I will say it was some of the best service I've had recently.
I wrote this review harshly because of how the menu is priced. It's Absolutely embarrassing how Eugenio's prices their items considering the quality of the food. The owner must be thinking they're making some incredible dishes when in reality it's low-tier garbage. I feel disrespected and robbed as a customer. I have no problem paying good money for good food,...

Probably the best spinach ravioli I’ve ever had! The dinner rolls (I think ciabatta ?) were also one of the highlights. Super friendly staff and attentive.
We were staying at a nearby hotel and one of the suggestions on their list was Eugenio Italian Ristorante. So we decided to give the place a try.
The inside restaurant was packed and we soon found out it was best to get reservations in advance. However, there were available chairs outside in a covered patio, so we decided we would sit out there and enjoy the weather.
Although the specials sounded amazing, who couldn’t resist fried mozzarella, because we didn’t want leftovers, we decided to split the chicken piccata with spinach, ravioli, mashed potatoes, vegetables, eggplant.
We were not disappointed! The presentation was fancy and the food exceeded our expectations. Again, compliments to the chef!
If you’re trying to decide what restaurant to go to, you don’t need to look further. This is the place to go. Great food, great people,...
Read moreEugeno Italian Restaurant in San Marcos, CA. Wow, what a wonderful find. This Italian restaurant is truly special. Appertizes, entrees, and deserts are all special recipes you do not normally find in a small, intimate neighborhood restaurant. We truly enjoyed the: Calamari ( fresh, tender, and plentiful ) Special garlic bread ( made with a special bread that takes two days to rise ) Lobster bisque ( a large bowl of savory bisque with floating croutons and cheese ) Salmon capachio ( fresh and delightful) Veal pamagnano ( two huge cutlets in a wonderful meat sauce with pamagnano cheese with pesto rigatoni on the side. Veal comes with roasted potatoes and vegetables or a side of pasta. Lasagna (one of the best meat sauce recipes I have ever had) The desserts were wonderful. Creme brulee and tiramisu were fantastic. We took home plenty of everything for our next days lunch. Remember to make a reservation as seating is limited. ¹Don't hesitate to try Eugenios Italian Restaurant.
