Frida’s Taqueria San Marcos — Restaurant in San Marcos

Fast to greet us upon arrival. Took our order and then instructed us to give the receipt to the kitchen. Felt odd at first but ended up being very cool. Handed him out ticket as I started to walk away he stopped me to ask exactly how we wanted our meals prepared. He explained what came on the chicken nachos and then went to the chicken quesadilla. The wait was very short and our order was ready.

A word of caution there is a ton of food for the value. One of the biggest chicken quesadillas I’ve ever seen in my life.

The food had a fantastic flavor. Sauces went from medium to hot, and hotter.Salsa bar well stocked with limes, cucumbers, and radish slices.

It's TACO TUUUESDAY!! And what a place to enjoy some authentic TJ style street tacos for only $1.99! We had the Carnitas (fire), Abodada (fire), and Chicharon. We also had their refried beans and something called Papa asada, which was a big ass baked potato with meat of your choice, cheese, grilled onions, and chile'...which was bomb!! The Aqua Fresca was delicious with many different flavors, I had the Jamaica, and it was so refreshing. This place was packed with beautiful people enjoying everything. The service was on point, the cashier provided suggestions, and the cooks served it up hot and spicy! This place is a gem in San Marcos! 2/10/2024 This is a late post but I will update if I do end up going next time. The young cashier with light hair in the night shift was not very friendly. Was rushing us to order and seemed to have rolled her eyes. Seems like she was not having a good day. I Still tipped them. I usually go to the Escondido location and havent had an issue there besides them always being packed. The food was not that good. My son ordered some adobada tacos and the meat was raw. The fresh fruit wateres seemed to be watered already. I do not know why I asked for carne asada nachos, when I was trying to go for the Carne Asada chips. Lol. That was my mistake.
