Let's be clear, this is a dump. And not in a good way.
Back in the the Nordstrom Rack was cool because it's where the sold off their overstock, out of season and return items. So you got amazing deals.
These days, that merchandize if less than 5% of the store, if that. So 95% of the store stock is made up of cheap junk made for the chain by brand names or created as a "house brand". The prices are not attractive and the quality is, mostly, abysmal.
But let's talk about this Rack store in particular. While it is one Nordstrom's highest volumes outlet stores, it's also, easily, one of the worst. There is never enough staff. Go ahead, bring your online order in to return. Enjoy the lines. Found something you want to buy? Now enjoy waiting to pay for it.
Add to that, the store is trashed. I expect this kind of thing at Ross, or TJMaxx or Marshalls. Not all of those store are always trashed by any means but if I encounter a mess on the floor or a rack of clothing that is utterly randomized, I'm not surprised. But I've shopped at Rack store in several states and this San Marcos is, by far, the worst. It's messy, cluttered and not well kept up. Of course, they don't bring in enough staff to keep it better because, well, I don't know. I suppose they don't care.
All in all, if you want a good deal, there are much better places to look in North County. If you want good service, you're kidding yourself. If you want quality merchandise you're better off shopping on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMelanie (Cashier) is amazing sheās very soft spoken patient and does well when it comes to handling issues and problem solving in the moment⦠I personally was feeling a little chaotic I had fraud issues with my card prior to this visit so I have extra steps needed to access and use my credit card. Call customer service, security code, and I also need my phone which I had lost in the store⦠Melanie was able to multi task very well and helped other customers in between while I was getting everything in order..
This is also where Mary (Floor Associate) comes in.. she offered me her phone and kept calling my number until I found it! So sweet. Security was friendly with perfect skin too apparently he uses La Roche Posay lol and the there was another sweetheart on the floor Hispanic black mid length hair (WED MARCH 19) she was very helpful trying to locate a dress from Monday I had on hold.
I love this store this location is great Iāve never had any issues and love the selection. Even the mark down items are very above average for the price. Donāt tell anyone) I know what to look for and Iāve had plenty of horrifying experiences but this store has never been the case. Keep in it 5 star through and through. Shout out to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited Nordstrom Rack and was disappointed with my experience. Upon my first visit to the fitting room, the associate let me walk in without asking how many items I had, simply telling me to choose any room. On my second visit to the fitting room, I walked right in, assuming the same procedure was acceptable. However, I was stopped by another associate āUH UH UH MAāAMāwho asked how many items I had and then instructed me to come back out and hang them up. It would be helpful if all associates followed the same guidelines to prevent customer confusion.
Additionally, when I exited the fitting room, I waited for someone to receive the items I did not want, unsure of where to hang them. The associates, instead of assisting, continued their conversation and ignored me. It would have been considerate for them to offer to take the items back or at least ask if they worked out.
To top it off, the checkout line was wrapped around the area. Fortunately, my cashier had good customer service, which was a small positive in an otherwise frustrating visit.
I'll be taking my business to the new Nordstrom Rack in Oceanside...
