Horrible experience. I've been coming here for years and I will NEVER go back. I've never been treated so rudely by a restaurant in my life.
As many know, rail yard has a pup friendly patio in the back. My bf and I brought our two dogs. When it came time to place our order I requested two plain meat patties with avocado tomatoes and lettuce...the server looked at me and asks "is that for you or your dogs?" Well, I thought he was joking! So I said "oh yes! I was thinking about ordering them a steak too!" He proceeds to tell me flaty they don't serve dogs...I told him it was just a joke and to place my order. He leaves to talk to his manager and comes back saying "...are you sure that's for you?" I tell him yes it is he then proceeds to say "cuz I'm going to get fired if we see you feeding your dogs." Now I'm embarrassed cuz I feel like I'm committing a crime just for ordering WHAT I ALWAYS ORDER. He asks me one more time and I insist it's for me. When he goes to place the order I decided to go after him, cancel the order, get the check and leave. I told him ordering shouldn't be so traumatizing.
Moral of the story folks: don't order your burger without a bun at rail yard...especially in the presence of dogs. Either they aren't as dog friendly as the claim or they don't care for people who...
Read moreWe have been there twice in the last month with the family. Our service was good and we loved the back space for the kids to run around and play. But the food was awful and wrong. First visit three of us got burgers. All three burgers were made wrong. Each one a different problem. When we finally got them right they were cold because they obviously didn’t make us a new burger but just took off or added what they missed. The burger and the fries were so salty they almost couldn’t be eaten (we left most of them). Tonight two of our group didn’t get their meals until almost 20 minutes after the first ones got theirs. One was a burger the other fried fish. Then the burger came out wrong. Missing cheese and with onions that were asked to be cut. It also had fries instead or rice on the side. It went back cheese was slapped on and onion taken off and it was returned. The fries still on the plate. But rice added. Two times in less than a month and the same issues both times. One server not ours made a comment not enough people reading English in the kitchen. I don’t know if that’s the issue or not. I’m all for people working that are willing to work but sounds like there needs to be some training. It’s a bar and grill. I don’t expect 5 star dining. But...
Read moreFood was great, wait staff however, might need a bit more training... When we got there, a waitress way in the back sitting down (place was empty) shouted,"sit anywhere" I had a dog and had to shout back, I'm not from here, I have a dog, where should I sit? (I was with my son and boyfriend and pet dog) she shouted again, just sit anywhere, it was clear she didn't hear me, so I asked again, she shouted, oh out back..I was mildly embarrassed.. She couldn't walk to the front? I asked for a cup of milk for my toddler (it's on the menu) and the waitress said it may have to be buttermilk,I don't think we serve milk here.. umm? It's on your menu.. well, it just might taste different.. say wha! I've been a waitress and she needs some extra training in the "know your menu" memorization/communication Dept.. smh.. then we asked if our dog could have some water in one of the dog bowls, saw another waiter go and pour out the water from a dog bowl, put it on top of the one in our area emptying that one.. so our waitress brought a teeny tiny little cup (no joke like the size of a salad dressing bowl) of water out for our 95lb Aussie/Lab.. that was just comical.. luckly I had water in the car...
