A group of friends and I stopped by this establishment on 4/6/24 while we visited San Marcos. Based on the reviews, we thought it would be a great place to grub on authentic Mexican food. The employees were great: super friendly and attentive. However, they failed to provide good service. After the gentleman took everyone's order and we received our food, a friend had to wait 25 minutes after to get her food. The woman came to check on us after we (except my friend) got our orders. She said she would check on my friend's order, but when she came back to check up on us again, my friend had to tell her again that she was still waiting on her food. The lady then brought a copy of our ticket order and could not find my friend's order. Food got out pretty quick for everyone, except my friend. The meat on another friend's food was too salty. The mini tacos I ordered were too dry. The food was warm rather than hot. We never got salsas brought over. When we got ready to pay our tab, we each told the woman what we each got. However, we were charged different beverages on our bill. This wasn't too upsetting because they equaled the same amount as the original beverages we had. However, this shows the lack of attention she can have. Hence, why she never updated my friend on her order and had to be reminded twice about it. Again, the employees seem very nice and attentive in terms of coming around and checking if you need anything every 15-20 minutes. However. The service they offer could use some improvement. Their food is not the best if you are hispanic or Mexican and are looking for...
Read moreThis is definitely a place for the locals to enjoy authentic Mexican food. Some employees are mostly Spanish speakers, so please be patient and come prepared with a translation app if you don't know the language, however, I'm sure they'd be okay with handing off an English speaking server to those needing one! Came here with my husband and children. After visiting, they all realized how important it is to learn a second language. I've taught them commonly used words, but that's about all they know and are excited to learn more after an experience in such a great place. Now, onto the real review! First off, let me start by saying, wonderful and attentive service! Our waitress was very patient with my English speaking family lol and my translating for them. My husband ordered the fajita plate, and my, did they come out sizzling! Absolutely delicious. I had the menudo, also, muy rico! It had amazing flavor and perfect amounts of spice! I also ordered a barbacoa taco. Very excellent tender and definitely not at all fatty! My daughters had the pancake breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, and sausage. The pancakes were so soft tasty. My son enjoyed a few breakfast tacos, which all came wrapped in soft hot tortillas. The price was very fair. Not pricey at all!
Since this first visit, we have ordered breakfast to go on multiple occasions. The tacos are always fresh and amazing. We will continue to enjoy ourselves at this establishment...
