Rooftop On the Square — Restaurant in San Marcos

I’ve never left a google review before… WORST bar experience I have ever had in my entirety of nightlife. I’ve never had a forceful/intentional aggression by a man before, mind you this was the MANAGER of this bar. I proceeded to get a water after my friends of the LGBTQ community were escorted out of the bar for being in the same restroom as me. A female bartender working that night was “uncomfortable” with the fact that they were in the restroom with me. Flash forward I go to sip my water I got from the downstairs bar and offer my friend a sip and the manager forcefully pushed my glass of water into my leg and spilled the whole drink down my jeans. I understand independent businesses have policies but this WAS NOT a way to handle a situation. Extremely homophobic bar that will not hold back from getting aggressively physical with female customers. Don’t waste your time at this bar, there are plenty of bars on the square that will allow you to have a wonderful experience like Wildfire...

Bought one Michelob and they added a $1 venue service fee charge. It was $5.33 for one Michelob and the bartender charged me $10 extra for nothing. I went back later and very politely asked about it. Afterall, maybe it was a mistake. She then got immediately confrontational and refused to do anything while being extremely rude, saying “what do you want me to do about it?” I’d think if she had a charge on her card she didn’t make, she’d ask about it too. And then made me wait for 5 minutes before telling me the same thing again. Was very confused because I wasn’t even upset about it, was just curious as to why it was there.

Great shot prices, decent priced drinks and a great outdoor area but man, on busy square days it’s just somewhere you want to AVOID after 12:45am. For some reason, everyone likes to end their night here. It just gets get way too overcrowded to where you can’t even walk or get a drink. And there is usually always at least one fight per night, probably because everyone is constantly bumping each other. Bouncers really need to do WAY better at controlling the amount of people in there. If there was a fire and I’m not even exaggerating, at least 30 people would be trampled. That’s how...
