Jelly Donuts — Restaurant in San Rafael

Prices are no longer awesome and still cash only. Used to be less than a dollar per donut before they increased prices. I used to really like this place but after being forced to buy more than I want multiple times, it's deserving of a poor review. At first, I thought "I'll give you one more!" meant I was getting a free donut. But after a few times, I realized I was being charged for that extra donut I didn't ask for!

Advice: if you want repeat customers, don't push extra purchases into them because they'll eventually notice.

It gets two stars instead of one because the blueberry glazed donut is actually really really good. (Everything else is mediocre.)

Unless I receive a direct apology, this is the last time I'm buying donuts here for the office. 2 of 5 stars

I used to be their delivery supply driver for several years for Westco and I had never tried their donuts because they were one of my last stops of the day. I retired from the company 14 years ago and needed to buy some donuts to bring to the guys at my new job and I remembered how nice they were to deliver too and decided to go there. Much to my surprise they have the best donuts probably in the whole North Bay and definitely in San Rafael because I have tried many others since I moved to the area. This place is the best and I hope they never close! I grew up in the area but now live out of the country and my family has relocated to the east bay but I still make the 60 min drive all the way to Jelly Donut whenever I come to visit them. The owners are super friendly and generous, often throwing in an extra freebie too. We've tried 4 other donut shops in the east bay and none are even close to as good as these. Long live...
