This place is on par with Sol Food and no one seems to know it! The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and the flavors are outstanding! Nowhere else do you get such unique pork variations such as pork lau lau, or my personal favorite, the kalua pork. Did I mention their sweet chili sauce is to die for? It goes perfectly with every item on the menu and has just the right about of bite combined with sweetness and tanginess. Their spam musibi are delicious as well; the spam is coated in an almost caramelized bbq glaze. The price is right, the food takes 10-15 minutes to get because it is freshly prepared. No issues with me there, if I was in a rush I could call in an order. The people who work there are super nice and welcoming. The food was o.k. but they do not have the Hawaiian Aloha spirit. The shave ice was served without enough syrup to cover the bottom half of the ice. When I asked about it, the waiter said that "some people don't like it too sweet". If a person doesn't like sweet, they won't order a shave ice. I ordered it with a scoop of ice cream. There was about a tablespoon of ice cream at the bottom. I guess that is what they call a "scoop". They have lunch and dinner prices but there is no difference in the portions and nothing extra is served to justify the difference in the price. I've been to several hawain restaurants in the bay area and this is just the worst. I had their teriyaki chicken and it was so dry it sucked the moisture right out of my mouth. It was what I think is chicken breast that is tossed in a cheap watery teriyaki sauce that doesn't stick to the meat at all with literally NO flavor. While everyone else is actually marinating their meats and using quality sauces and cuts of meat these guys are serving garbage. Avoid this place and try the L&L Hawaiian place in Novato or drive 20 min to get to several good quality spots in San...
