We loved the lunch buffet that came with chai, naan, and a wide variety of delicious dishes. A few items like the butter chicken and some vegetable medleys had more interesting and delicious spices than the average buffet. I ate lots of crispy fried fish (available Fri, Sat, & Sun), while my husband enjoyed the mild goat, and we both loved the chicken dishes and items like mango chutney. The goat has some bones so eat it slowly.
Since we wanted to soak up the Indian food, we ignored the fresh salad stuff. 🤣
For dessert: The rice pudding with slivered almonds was the best we've had! The little donut hole in syrup, a few slices of honeydew melon, and we had happy bellies.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the chai was so yummy that I drank 4 small cups. I also forgot to take photos of the delicious food Anyway, we highly recommend New Delhi and will update the review with pics next time we go.
PS We had our little dog with us so were relieved they had one table outside. We took turns staying with her while the other person went inside to the buffet, and it...
Read moreLunch buffet was fabulous, every item was superbly delicious. Tandoori chicken and butter chicken; very tasty pakoras (not at all greasy); aloos with potatoes and/or garbanzos; loved the 3 different chutneys and the raita. Can’t remember all the dishes but they were plentiful and perfectly spiced and prepared. The buffet included unlimited chai tea and a choice of 3 different naans, the garlic one was outstanding. We were too full to try the desserts. The owner was very kind and caring, service was excellent. Read moreI recently dined at New Delhi Indian Cuisine in San Rafael, and as a vegetarian, I was beyond impressed! The menu offers a fantastic variety of vegetarian options, each bursting with authentic Indian flavors.
I started with the Vegetable Samosas, which were perfectly crispy and paired with a delicious tamarind chutney. For the main course, I tried the Palak Paneer and Dal Tadka—both were incredibly flavorful, with just the right balance of spices. The Garlic Naan was soft, warm, and the perfect complement to the rich, comforting curries.
Beyond the food, the service was warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive and even offered great recommendations based on my preference for mild spice. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal.
I’ll definitely be back to try more of...
