Taqueria Bahia — Restaurant in San Rafael

They keep messing up my simple, same order I make almost every time I buy food from them. I always order the same thing to go ( a simple breakfast burrito with just eggs, black beans, cheese & avocado ). But now 4 out of the latest 5 times I've ordered from them, they omit either the eggs or black beans. 1 of the 2 main ingredients.

Even though each time I've ordered I've repeated back the order and asked them to repeat my order and ingredients back to me since they keep getting it wrong. Yet the still keep leaving out either the black beans or eggs. At first I assumed it was just them being absentminded. But given the frequency and consistency of them leaving out ingredients when there are only 4 ingredients plus the tortilla, im beginning to wonder if they are doing it intentionally to rip people off since they are giving less than we are paying for. And burritos are smaller than the few times they made the order correctly with all 4 ingredients.

When I called them and have mentioned the repeated mistakes they make with my orders they seem to be totally passive, not interested or care about it. Sad. I had only recently discovered them a couple months ago and even initially gave them a positive review in nextdoor, but now give the frequency they keep leaving out 1 or 2 main ingredients fillings, its seeming either intentional or extremely uncaringly...

I'll preface this by saying: everything's expensive when you don't want to make it yourself. You'll want to spend $15 on yourself or $40 on two people. And that's what you pay for great service.

This restaurant has fast and friendly service and absolutely delicious product. Everything they make keeps great in the fridge as well; you can have two days of food for a decent price.

Their timeliness on serving your order is hard to match. In just the last year, we've only had ONE time we had a delayed order, likely due to a staffing issue. My partner and I stop here 1-2 times a week for dinner when he works late. Even when the restaurant is packed, you can expect fast and quality food. And you can always find indoor seating for dinner.

Honestly, they won't remember your face or what you like. But they will serve you all the same. They're one of the great restaurants around here, and they serve local schools ; I've been in there while the whole sports team is there and still gotten great service.

The food was done very well here which I found surprising for downtown San Rafael. I live in San Jose where there’s so many choices of good authentic Mexican food. The taco salad I got was so filling I couldn’t finish. I decided to try refried beans instead of whole but it made it kinda watery. That’s what I get for trying something out of ordinary for me so I’ll stick with my whole beans. The salsa bar was good as well and had all the salsas I like. I wish they had grilled jalapeños they offered but I also didn’t ask so will find out next time. The chips were freshly made which is important at any taqueria I feel.
