All I can say about this place is "meh". I didn't read any of the reviews but decided to leave a review as I didn't see the 4.5 star average rating at all at dinner with the family tonight. I'm going to preface my "findings" below with this: I don't hang out at country club restaurants, so maybe what I write after this is the norm and if so, ignore what I write. Showing up at the restaurant, the staff had smiles on their faces and spoke with smiles in their voices, which is an excellent start. We were seated, the place looked about 1/8th full at 530 pm on a Thu, with the average age group of customers around 60 years old. This place was quiet for a brewery/restaurant attached to a golf course. No played and the TVs were on mute. We were seated and about 10 min later a server brought us waters, and about 5 min after a different staff member came to get our drink and snack order. We ordered simple, 2x soft drinks and 1x Moscow mule and 1x Italian soda. It took about 15 min to get the drinks to our table and in that time I drank all of my water (not once was water offered to be refilled, the whole time we were there which was about 1.5 hours). Once we got our drinks, we ordered simple dishes, 2x kids meals a small burger no toppings and a bean and cheese burrito, and 2x entree's, 1x order of fish and chips and 1x order of a chicken sandwich order, and I ordered 1x hummus plate for the table. Simple dishes, with very little prep time. (Keep in mind it didn't look short staffed and the place was 1/8 full). I didn't get an offer of water refills at the time of the order and I forgot to ask, as I was distracted. Food took 30-35min to come out and the hummus plate came out with our main dishes, which kinda defeats the purpose of a tapas plate to hold people off until food comes out. The food was fine, about black bear diner level, maybe slightly less greasy, but fairly unimaginative, if I was drunk i would be impressed with the food and maybe be happy with the $115 bill. We finished all of our food in 15 min, once during that time a young server asked if the kids needed a soda refill, to which we said "no" but we wanted water, he never came back with any refills. Then a different younger female came to continue waiting on our table, so she cleared the table, still no water, then she disappeared for 20 min, she was still working and waiting the other 2 tables, but during the 20 min she never made it around to ask if we wanted a refill, or wanted desert, or wanted a couple of to go boxes. So about 35-40 min after food came out and 20 min after we had finished our food and were sitting around clearly waiting, the server came back out and asked who had the birthday today, my wife had mentioned it to the manager earlier to get me a desert and for a candle. We got 1x brownie with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream a solid 20 min after she took our order we received the order, (it tasted and looked like a little Debbie brownie cake with plain vanilla ice cream just the brownie was heated up, it was not fresh out of the oven, clearly but microwaved up, I actually like the little Debbie brownies, so the food is not what I am complaining about, it's the fact that it took 20 min from order to table drop off for a dish that takes 3 min to prep and a nearly empty restaurant and what looks like a well staffed crew). The crew sang the birthday song with a cheery attitude and looked sincere so points for that, even though being close to 40 years old, I would be perfectly content not to have that sort of attention. All 4 of us devoured it in less than 5 min and we clearly looked like we were ready for the check. To which we waited another 20-25 min before a check was presented along with the to go boxes, the check was for a different table and took an additional 15 min to sort out. All in all, service was cheerful and food was fine, but service was snail's pace on a fuller staff and the wait staff didn't see typical things that needed servicing in a timely manner. I wouldn't com here again for dinner, unless it was just guys that had...
Read moreBeen coming here regularly since it opened, won’t be coming anymore. Went with my family, handed wrong expired card to the employee and it got denied. Nbd, it happens.
Someone came out of the back and took the declined card situation way too seriously, asked us for a new card rudely. We apologized for the oversight, we handed her a new card, she then asked to see an ID along with the card.
I said, “that’s the first I’ve ever heard of that in my life”. She replied “it’s normal restaurant policy, you’re always required to check IDs on any credit card, we always check IDs”
Lady was stand-off ish and wasn’t a part of the usual wait staff. Staff is all great, whoever that lady is a racist. Her staff didn’t even check my ID when I ordered a beer but wanted one for a credit card.
I’ve been coming here frequently since it opened with my family and have never encountered anything so stupid. It’s a shame, I won’t be coming back ever again even though their beer is great, food is great, wait staff is usually great, that lady is just...
Read moreCalamari rings and sauces were divine! I was surprised of the choice to make the pretzels spicy instead of the beer cheese, but in no way did that disappoint me. the beer cheese was definitely my favourite part, because it was just like the beer cheese at this restaurant that closed down in my hometown and I have been missing it for years! I ordered the meatball sub with the pesto on the side cause I didn't know if I'd like it with the marinara, but I ended up needing it to make the sandwich good so I recommend just letting the chef do their thing if you order the meatball marinara! Randall was awesome! Did a great job! Zero complaints! The interior was clean but it didn't seem to commit to any style that's why the 4 stars but it was...
