My recent visit to this Dairy Queen was, without exaggeration, one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. As someone who grew up with Dairy Queen in Arizona and is a fan of the chain, I was incredibly disappointed. It's clear this California franchise owner doesn't prioritize customer satisfaction.
Hoping to combine a meal with dessert, we brought a group of children during the week. It was a significant miscalculation. I can't understand why they even advertise food. Our order included various chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers, hot dogs, and onion rings. The chicken sandwich, advertised with lettuce and tomato, consisted of two pieces of bread with sparsely breaded chicken nuggets. When I pointed out the discrepancy to an employee, comparing the sandwich to the menu photo, her response was, "We don't do that." I even saw another employee in the back with a large bowl of lettuce in the sink. It felt like a dismissive and uncaring attitude towards fulfilling the advertised menu items.
The blizzards we ordered were acceptable. However, the service was still problematic. We witnessed an employee hand a blizzard to one customer, only to then take it away and give it to another customer who had been waiting over 25 minutes. The two customers were not together, highlighting the disorganized and inefficient service.
My recommendation: order online or call ahead, and only order ice cream. This was a truly terrible, bizarre, and awful experience. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to avoid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBig day as it's our son's forever day so we thought DQ would be a great idea. My wife and daughter have been here and enjoyed the soft serve. This evening, not good. Order was wrong on two orders; one being our son, but it was just a cone so he wasn't upset. As for mine, I asked for chocolate/choc dipped and got vanilla/choc dipped. She points at the monitor and says it was correct. All I get is an apology. Doesn't try to correct the order. Not surprised and I'll be cordial in not explaining why. Anway, that would mean the order was taken wrong. I was clear about the request. My wife got van/choc dipped. She said the vanilla tasted funny. Since I ended up with vanilla, I figured I'd deal with it. I've always loved DQ (at least in other locations). In this case, same thing.
The vanilla tasted funny. I tried my wife's as she said the same thing and they did taste different. Either the cream/milk is bad or the ingredients changed. It almost tasted like frozen yogurt, but the taste made it questionable. Regardless, we only live a few minutes away and threw them out when we walked in the door. The kids with chocolate had no problems.
I don't expect we will ever return, and the fact that my first experience there was not satisfactory at all, I'll be recommending others against going. Anyone working a register should repeat the order to ensure accuracy. I'm hoping the vanilla isn't bad as it won't work out well if I end up sick!
Do better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was quite nice, I used the buy one get one free blizzard to get two small blizzards which were the Oreo blizzard, a nice sweet cream with oreo cookie pieces in it. And the M&M blizzard which had a subtle chocolate and vanilla blend taste and the added crunch texture of the M&Ms are quite delightful. I also got the fries and garlic parmesan tenders, which were nicely seasoned and drizzled in sauce with a perfect kick of spice. The blizzards came out quite slow but only 2 people were working so understandable with the 4 other people i was with, but the order time was quite slow in general. In Kevin Obermans review, he ordered the raspberry fudge bliss and talked about the overall architecture and interior. Come on, Kevin, focus on the damn food, weāre not all architects. Kevin, as customers we are aware that it is a small DQ when you step right into the front door, and itās not very busy most of the time so the indoor seating...
