Update: right after posting this review they said that they were working on getting me a refund for the two items I specifically complained about... which may take a couple of days 🙃
(Reposting this review as I initially left it on the wrong account)
This place is awful. We ordered from them on their website at 5:30PM, and doordash said the food would be done and arrive by 6PM. I thought this was weirdly fast, but didn't question it. Then the wait time kept getting longer and longer, and the time kept updating to push it further and further out. We didn't end up getting the food until 6:45PM, at which point it arrived barely lukewarm despite the restaurant only being about ten minutes away. All four pieces of the naan were burnt on the bottom, and the chicken kabobs were both burnt on the bottom and pink on the inside (pictures attached). The goat biryani was both cold and spicier than I could handle, which I wouldn't have minded as much if there were any descriptors of the food on the website. The mango lassi and rose lassi were both VERY small (think kids' sized drinks), and they both kind of just tasted like plain greek yogurt with a slightly more liquidy consistency. We ended up not trying the shrimp dish we got. All of the food ended up being thrown away in the end.
I called the restaurant and told them about it, although I only brought up the chicken and naan because I didn't want to make them refund the whole thing, and the man on the phone asked me to come to the physical location so they could make me new food. I told them no thank you, I'm in my PJ's and would just like my money back. The man said to come back the next day and they would make the food for me then. I told them I would just like a refund if that was possible. They asked me multiple times to give them a chance to remake it, told me over and over that it never happens and that they weren't sure why it did, then told me doordash wasn't giving me the option to refund me, and then asked for my number and said they'd call me back. That was over an hour ago, and I haven't received an email, call back, or any other communication from them.
I normally feel guilty leaving one star reviews for businesses, especially local ones, but this was a horrible experience made significantly worse by the lack of a refund. I hope this was just an off...
Read moreLast night our tastebuds were craving Dosa and we drove 35 mins to get to the Hyderabad Biriyani House. This isn’t the first time we have done that as the food here is so delicious, we went there more often before Covid. We ordered 5 dosas to go. Drove back 35 minutes and all very excited to dig in. However, much to our surprise, they have us completely watered down Sambhar. It tasted exactly as if they added more water to make up for the quantity and extra salt for seasoning. It wasn’t just me, all five of my family members felt the grossness in the taste of overly salty yellow colored hot water, served to us as Sambhar. Disappointed, especially after such a long drive, we were expecting our Dosas and sambhars to be just as yummylicious as it always was. I called and spoke with the owner Raj and I wanted to bring this to their attention that if they have changed their recipe, then it is not as appealing as it used to be. He started going on and on about how “he is trying to survive in Covid, and that we should appreciate them still staying open”. I told him I do appreciate which is why we even drove all that far to give them business, but that tweaking the water content in their sambhar to Make up for the cost isnt the way to go. When i reassured him that i am not looking for any refund or any type of free food, my purpose is just to tell him how disappointed we were from our recent experience, he decided to calm down and listen to what i was really telling him
We will go back again, but really this experience did leave a “salty” taste...
