As a black women and athlete I was shocked and very disappointed when the gym owner Tim Hill said that I was too athletic for the current group setting as i met with him yesterday to cancel my membership because of the beginning snowball effect of social isolation. This statement reflects a of understanding and respect for the diverse fitness levels and experiences of gym members. Tim in his own words convey to me that I am a standout athlete and it could make other feel uneasy as they are not on my level of athleticism. Shocking! There are many other women lifting heavyweight and are more advanced in their movements than I am so I didn't understand why the isolation and being told im arrogant, check my ego, even to coaches purposely telling me 8m doing a good job and right on my movementsand i was doing them wrong. The coaches and a few others in the group purposely wouldn't speak to me pretty much setting up a path for me just leave and not socialize with anyone as they figured out a way to " get me out" of the gym. I really thought they wanted folk in here to thrive in their own personal fitness journey I guess not. Lastly, even my son has experienced racism here from other children so for me this kind of behavior is clearly trickled down from the top and clearly hasn't been addressed. If you're a black thriving athlete, it is not recommended to attend or pay $239.00 for a membership at this establishment. They wheel you in and if you're what they are looking for your days will be numbered. I hope folk such as myself check reviews often!
Ps: To witness this in 2024 in Cali home of yhe such diverse place is insane. I have never in my 20+ years as a professional athlete been told im too athletic to be at a gym and then a crossfit gym where the culture is preached about pushing yourself to be your best!
Pss: before I get out of here I was told by Tim that I've never done anything wrong and his interactions with me has been positive but I'm just too athletic. I am over crossfit, im going to be athletic at 24hr fitness 😂😂😂😂😂
As I've done my homework apparently a few other business owners in the area don't many good things to say about leadership in this gym. Bummer If you can't be intimidated and under their...

Fast forward, a year later, going on 7 years as a member now. Throughout the pandemic, Tim and Lori have continued to maintain an excellent CrossFit box. Sanitation and proper programming by both staff and members have kept the box a safe environment to work out in. During these difficult times, CrossFit San Ramon has provided me the opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I encourage you to give it a try!

I've been doing different things for my fitness level throughout the past 10 plus years orange theory, different corporate fitness gyms and bikram hot yoga. Do you see the pattern, there is no CrossFit ever cross my life. Because I never thought I can CrossFit. Not until I met CrossFit San Ramon. The gym is run by few the most amazing fitness experts, Lori, Tim, Rodel, Ty. Mike and Janice. I joined the gym but I stay for the result and community. Coach Tim is an OG crossfitter, he has so much knowledge about fitness and preventive care for his clients. This is the gym you can CrossFit 7 days/week without hurting yourself. If you think CrossFit is not for you then you have to think again. I love how we can modify our workout base on what we capable of and still get the best workout out of it.
