Jack, the owner and CEO, knows his beer! I came in desperate need of something sweet and strong, and he was great to make the recommendations.
I was coming in thinking about a cider, but I ended up trying the hard seltzer. To my surprise, it was very customizable and tasty. It's one of though drinks where you can make it as sweet as you like with as much alcohol content as you please.
It was also very flavorful and had a nice color to it. I liked how after chugging about half of the dragon fruit and guava with a 5.1% alcohol content, I was buzzed and happy as can be. The honey mango and Hawaiian mixture was also tasty in my books.
There were other draft varieties, coffee flavored, and even frozen type drinks. Ooh. And the mac and cheese is delicious by the way.
Jack was really educational giving us a quick breakdown of the beer process. I only heard bits and parts, but he seemed passionate about it. He said they strive for a quality beer having their yeast imported from the Netherlands (?). It sounds so fancy right?!
Mutation Brewing Company was a very spacious spot, both with the interior and exterior spaces. I enjoyed the variety of seating arrangements: usual bar seats, high table tops, booths, picnic style tables outside, smaller intimate tables, and saving the best for last these really modern swinging chairs (I should have really snapped a picture).
They also had corn hole and a beer pong table set up! There were also televisions playing in the background. I also forgot to mention the high patio area up the stairs for additional privacy.

Read moreWe really liked this brewery. We passed through on a pretty busy night. We were impressed that the staff took so much time to talk to us about the different beers and that they made sure we got something we liked. I'm not much of an IPA person but their Liquid Hot Magama IPA and the Count of Montecitro (sorry if I messed up the names a little!) We're really good. I fell in love with the Mile High Salute Chicha Sour. The taste of apples, cinnamon and cloves was like fall in my mouth. We were on our way to a camping trip and I took a growler of the Mile High to sip by the campfire... I should have gotten more then one! My husband enjoyed the Heffeweiz Guy which had notes of clove. My husband took a growler of the Heffa and also enjoyed it by the campfire. We thought the outdoor space here was pretty neat. They have tables with swings attached which was something I've never seen before. We really appreciate that they are dog friendly and super kind to our...
Read moreI wasn’t sure I was going to like this place when i found it online. It looks like a cross between a doctors office and an 80s movie prom, and it’s just not what I’m used to. When I arrived, “Kegs” the bartender greeted me and walked me through the menu. He was easy going and helpful, and I appreciated his guidance. He even offered something brand new and not yet on the menu to taste, making this a unique experience. The beers are overall very good and I was excited to try more — standouts were the Big Drinkus and Liquid Hot Magma IPAs, the Pilsner was also very good, and the Teddy Brewsevelt was tasty, too. I also appreciated their fruited sour, but that is not the beer I would come back here for (The Big Drinkus is return worthy). The atmosphere is like a divorced dad’s basement, lots of cool grey and black, spartan furnishings and an uncomfortable amount of neon. But it works. Mutation is the brewery I didn’t realize I needed to hang out...
