Millie's Mama Bakes — Restaurant in Sanford

Oh. My. God. When I say these were the best cookies I've ever had in my life I absolutely mean it. Even Gideons at Disney Spring couldn't hold a candle to these divine treats!! And the service was phenomenal!!! I was told about this place 2 years ago when I used to work at a lil blt shop in chapel hill and I've thought about it ever since- saying when I make my way to Sanford I will be going there! Well, for 2 years I hadn't had any reason to go to Sanford until I caught a sick little bird, so feeding two birds with one worm I dropped the baby off at Holly's Nest and popped over to Millie's where I was warmly greeted immediately. I ordered a banana bread cookie, chocolate chip, and turtle. White I saw they have a caramel apple cookie, it (of course) was sold out, and most places will tell you that's it for the day but not Millie! She had the oven on and when I asked how long she was more excited than I was to tell me only 45m and even gave me a few places to check out during my wait! My boyfriend, my employee, and I were all blown away by how delicious these cookies were! While I shared most of them, the chocolate chip didn't even make it home! I honestly can say these are the best cookies I’ve ever tasted. Once I discovered these cookies I drove an hour round trip to pick up cookies on a weekly basis until the store opened. I’m so excited for the store because I can go pick up cookies almost any day I crave one. They’re sweet but also perfectly salted. I’ve had so many bad cookies and didn’t know it until I had one of these. Chocolate espresso is my absolute favorite but they’re all delicious. The store is beautiful and it’s in the cutest part of town. Go get some because just 1 is not enough! Also the macrons are incredible- they’re everything they should be and the flavors...

We stumbled into Millie’s by chance when the nearby donut shop was out of donuts. I am glad they were out! The cookies are exceptional!!! We had the German chocolate, butterfinger, pumpkin, and the kitchen sink cookies. We also bought some fresh pretzels. Everything was incredible. This was a surprise treat to celebrate a big moment.
