Montego Bay Caribbean Takeout — Restaurant in Sanford

Just visiting Florida, I had a craving for “jerk chicken” so I looked up what was close and chose what was said to be the absolute best! Absolutely wrong!!!!! I guess you have to be a certain color to be treated right, who knew? Im not from here or else I would have known to phone in and hide people or go in myself which is absurd, I know, but when you have to work around some ignorance, you do, we didn’t know. I’m black, but my wife is not, I didn’t know it was a prerequisite that everyone be black until inside. Once I noticed …..I put on my best behavior and tried to get good service even though my instincts and gut was teling me I would not due to the service and attitude I was receiving. We received bones, entire orders nothing but bones and cold cabbage, bay leaves still left in the food. A disgrace to say the least. I thought when you went public? You were proud and wished to share to the world your gift! I guess I was wrong. So heed my warning if you’re not black, ethnic or not loving who a restaurant owner thinks you should not. Your meal, appetite and wallet will suffer for YOUR LIFES decisions in this establishment. You will be judged and treated. WILL NEVER BE BACK! I've been in this location three times and only ate once. The first two times was because no one was in the front to greet and or take an order. The second time I waited till an order woman came out and I nicely tolder her, it's unprofessional for there to be no one in front to receive guests and take orders. She openly received my message and ask if I wanted to order, I responded I had already place my food order with the Chinese two doors down.

Last night I said let me try again. And of course no one there to greet or take orders. So I ask for someone with a loud tone because there were others waiting for their food because I asked. I ordered and got the curry chicken, rice and peas and Cabbage. The older gentleman that brought the food out ask for me to look at the food and I said, "yes, I see lots of grease." He took he back I assumed to pour it off but it was greasy as a pan of oil to fry some food. I prayed on the way home for this food to taste good.... smh what a disappointment. This for sure wasn't BettaPack curry... no hint of spice and lacked lots of flavor. The rice for sure was a very cheap rice and Cabbage had no flavor what's ever.... My daughter and I were in the Sanford area for an appointment and had an hour to spare so I called to place an order. The woman who answered was extremely rude! We ordered curry shrimp and a large oxtails meal. We were told it would be 30 minutes due to the cook making the shrimp/seafood when ordered. I inquired if it could possibly be ready sooner and she said, “that’s the time - if you want it, get it, if not then don’t.” Horrible! We sat in the car for 20 minutes to wait after the 10 minute drive, due to it raining. When going inside after the 30 minute timeframe, we were advised by the woman who took the order that she did not write the order so it was not ready. She swiped the card nonetheless and we had to wait another 20 minutes. She offered and gave a beef patty for not putting in the order. My daughter and I were 15 minutes late to the appointment in the area due to this and there is lipstick in two separate locations on the top of the container containing the ONE oxtail. Actual ONE oxtail is in meal, the remainder of the meal is the oxtail meat gravy, NOT oxtail!!! For $17, before tax, it should have actual oxtails!! See attached photos.
