Rafael's Pizza (Rafael Kitchen + Pizza) — Restaurant in Santa Ana

UPDATE: As promised, I gave Rafael's another try today, 10/9/21. I called it in and ordered the same pizza well done. It was accurate and made promptly. I received a text again once it was ready and pick up was quick. As notes on my last reveiw, overall the pizza was good and it was even better this time around. Definitely recommend Rafael's. Updated photo included as well.

Okay, so I dont like writing bad reviews on small businesses unless it's absolutely warranted. 3 stars isn't what I consider bad, but I'll give them another try and update me review after my next visit.

Flavor was good, I ordered online and there was no where to add comments and I usually like my pizza well done. I will call it in next time and ask for it to be made well done.

Service was prompt and pick up time was accurate. I also liked that they sent me a text notification when my order was ready. Nice touch!

Location was great, inside it looked very clean and I could have probably ordered and eaten my pizza there as they had a TV with the game on and plenty of seating available.

Lastly, the reason for my 3 stars. I order a large, half pepperoni w/sausage and half pepperoni, pineapple and jalapenos. I double checked my order confirmation to verify. Unfortunately, they forgot the jalapenos. Like I noted above, I'll order again and update my review if it's accurate next time.

Awful service, food, and way overpriced. They made a mistake on our order, came out to the dining area and made us pay almost $5 for a GF crust after we just paid $70. They then sent out the $5 crust burnt with vegan cheese on it though I ordered vegetarian. I offered to let them just melt cheese on it and refund $5 out of principle and the fact that I didn’t want to waste the food. They declined my offer and made a new one which was burnt as well, just not as bad. They then argued with us about the side of ranch for our salad (which was rather generic) we ordered and paid for. The poor man that was in dining room trying to enjoy his dinner, was equally as shocked by the poor customer service. It was one of the most absurd interactions I have ever had in a restaurant. Frozen pizzas taste bette than this. Such a shame as we do our best to support small business. It was such a rotten ending to a great day at the beach. We are honestly dumbfounded by the high reviews! 🌟⚠️👎

First time customer. I got bad customer service and the mediocre food was 30 minutes late.

I was hungry for pizza and wanted to support a local business. Rafael's had amazing reviews so I paid $75 for a large pepperoni, a medium cheese and 18 piece hot wings including delivery and tip.

Unfortunately the food was late. I called twice to ask about my food. Maria was very short with me. I asked for a manager. She put me on hold for 3 mins. Maria came back on (I never got to speak to a manager) and informed me that the driver was 2 mins from my house. She never asked me for my name or my order. She never apologized and was nothing but short and rude. Maria did not care 💅

The food itself was mediocre. The pizza was ok, not great but not bad (I am perplexed by the good reviews). The wings were straight up bad as they had thick soggy skin and bland flavor.

Not worth the wait, not worth the bad customer service and not worth $75.
