We chose Jalsa to cater our wedding reception, and it was a fantastic decision for our blended celebration. Our morning ceremony was a traditional Hindu wedding with a conventional North Indian lunch, while the evening reception was contemporary. Jalsa perfectly complemented our evening by offering a menu that, while influenced by Indian cuisine, incorporated elements from other cuisines, making it unique and reflective of us as a couple. Both our families and friends loved it, and it was easy to accommodate vegetarian preferences.
Specific highlights from Jalsa included the delicious appetizers, the fresh tandoor oven naan, and the unique dessert options. Working with Jalsa was smooth and straightforward. We began planning nine months, and their menu options and pricing were clear and easy to navigate. As the event approached, we met with them and our coordinator to ensure every detail was covered, from rentals to specific food selections.
On the day of the event, the service was outstanding. Despite the hectic schedule, the Jalsa team worked diligently to serve food and drinks and clean up afterward. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we highly recommend Jalsa for any...

Jalsa catered the food for my wedding, and from day one Chef Shetty was a pleasure to work with.
We wanted a traditional south Indian breakfast (idli, vada, sambar, pongal, etc) and a mix of south and north Indian dishes for lunch (bisibelebath, curd rice, paneer mutter, malai kofta, etc) along with some fusion dishes (e.g. gobi manchurian). Most importantly, we wanted everything to be vegetarian.
For the tasting, Chef Shetty provided extremely generous portions (enough for several meals), including for a number of items that we did not order (e.g. the chocolate tulip with mousse). We loved some of the tasting dishes but were disappointed with some of the others, and Chef Shetty took all of our feedback to heart (e.g. less garam masala).
As a result, we fine-tuned the menu and even did a second tasting, yielding two meals that guests loved. We received numerous compliments (especially about the paneer mutter, malai kofta, gobi manchurian, and avocado passionfruit bavarois), including from one meat-lover who said that it was the best vegetarian meal they had ever tasted.
I strongly recommend Jalsa and Chef Shetty for...
Read moreWe hired Jalsa to cater our three day, Indian fusion wedding in October 2022 for 175+ people. Food was the #1 priority for my family, and we booked Jalsa before we even booked our venue!
Jalsa's food is incredible. It's tasty, fresh, innovative, and pleasing to all palates. Reshmi is flexible about crafting a menu that is custom for your event and a full tasting is included, so that you can make sure you like what is on their catering menu for the year.
Getting a hold of them via email was sometimes challenging (try giving Reshmi a call instead) but they did a wonderful job on all three days of our wedding events. We got compliments about the food on each day, as they were able to do a superb job delivering authentic flavors with vegetarian South Indian food for our religious ceremony lunch, street food for our outdoor Sangeet, and traditional North Indian buffet for our reception. Even their desserts are very creative and different, with lots of fusion flair. Their staff knows what they are doing, and are professional and on time. Overall, I would hire Jalsa again for...
