UPDATE 4/7/2018 -- Dropping to one star even though I had been going here basically weekly for years now --
Very Disappointed
I get that there are rules to prevent abuse, however, I also understand that there exists reasonability. Yesterday, the family and I went to the Chi Chi's Canyon Country (as we (now used) to do on a regular basis) and ordered the same meal that we always order. Medium Pizza, three cups of chowder, a salad, four drinks, appetizer, meatball and the all you can eat pasta. Food cost for this with tax works out to $71 (I know this because we always get the same)... the difference though was that the waitress informed me this time that my toddler is not permitted to have any of my pasta since all you can eat is not meant for sharing. I get that it is not meant to be shared among children and or other adults, however the ten or even lets say fifteen pieces of rigatoni that my toddler will eat does not justify ordering another $12 pasta dish nor would I consider it an abuse of the system. Apparently though, the management (Ivan, he repeated his name to me MANY times and told me to call corporate if I have an issue so I guess that he wants his name on this review that I told him I was going to post and he still kept telling me his name) believes that it is better to see a $85 to $90 tab (with tip) walk out the door over 15 pieces of rigatoni. We live in a community of families with young children, this is not a very wise business move in my opinion being the number of choices of family restaurants located here.
The competition...
Read moreDecent place. I’ve been eating here for over 25 years now, and I’m 27. In the more recent last few years their quality has kind gone down a little bit. Also, because of the pandemic there is no dining in. With that said, when you normally dine in they bring your fresh sourdough rolls to start with, which you are not charged for and you can have as many baskets as you want. When having to order out now, they charge me every single time for the rolls. They literally make me pay for 4 of their sourdough dinner rolls. My parents and grandparents have been coming to both Chi Chi’s locations, and Chi Chi’s in general since they have opened. I’ve had so many birthday dinners, family outing dinners, other celebrations etc here as well as just coming to eat because it’s so good. I was so very fond of this place while growing up and my brother and sisters didn’t even have to beg my parents or grandparents to take us. We would just go that often and never got tired of it. But the last couple years just have been as good for some reason. Besides that, it’s still decent...
Read moreI thought it would have been nice to have my girlfriends birthday dinner here with my family. Aside from my brothers pizza coming out after everyone else finishing their food, I also did not receive my soup. My brother went to ask the waitress if they could sing happy birthday. Before she came out there were a couple employees who came to "check us out," when they noticed we were lesbians they must have decided that they didn't want to take part. Instead our waitress came out with some ice cream and sang by herself while the other employees stood around. Our waitress apologized that everyone was busy but it was very clear that they were not as I could see that they had more than enough time to carry on conversations that I observed from the moment we got there. Our waitress was very nice but this is by far the worst experience I have ever encountered here. Do yourself a favor and go to the...
