I was excited to try this place out. It seemed to have good menu ideas. Sadly, our server seemed either really nervous or new to the job. Kept forgetting what we were ordering or didn't hear us. We had to repeat ourselves a couple of times, which does get annoying. The food took a minute but not too long. When the food came out and it looked good, i ordered the supreme burrito that came with a cup of fruit, a pretty small sized burrito btw. I asked the lady for some hot sauce other than Tapatio. She said they have this really hot sauce they make in the restaurant. I asked to try some because you know you can't eat a breakfast burrito without hot sauce. I put some on my burrito and took a bite. Everything was perfectly cooked, but it lacked flavor. I was expecting some kind of signature sauce or taste behind their burrito and couldn't find it. It just tasted like a regular breakfast burrito. The "hot" sauce wasn't even mild. I was bummed since it looked like a good homemade hot sauce. I ended up just using Tapatio since that had more kick. Basically the most of the flavor I got from that burrito was the Tapatio. I wouldn't have been trippin so hard on a breakfast burrito, but the price was up there. For the burrito, an orange juice and water, my part of the bill was about $25 after tax. You can't go out to eat and not tip, so tipped about $5 because the server seemed to be having a rough time handling her whole section, maybe just an off day. So, for a mid (at best) breakfast burrito, I'm paying $30. Now imagine 4 of you going to get some breakfast and paying the average price of $30-40 (you might add or customize the order), you would be paying around $120-160 for food that doesn't taste like it cost double than what you should really be paying. I'd honestly just rather keep going to Tellys. Their breakfast burritos are much bigger and have the signature "this is from tellys" taste it for...
Read moreThis was our first experience here, the people are all great and very welcoming! The food was great and as we all know we eat with our eyes, and let me tell you the presentation was amazing! Even my 9 year old said "wow look at the way the food came out, that presentation is amazing". All the from a 9 year old, so it definitely made an impression on him.
I had the cafe de olla and it was really good, not to sweet it was just right! The breakfast sandwich I had was on point and well balanced, the hash browns were some of the best I have ever had, cook perfectly with the perfect amount of salt and flavor.
My wife had the chila quilles, and she thought it was amazing, she never finished her food and she finished it all, which goes to say it was amazing!
My two boys had the supreme burrito, and they also said it was better than many others they have had, they had a smoothie to drink and they both loved it.
All in all this was a great addition to the scv and we will be coming back her many times to try all the different things on the menu. We had a nice conversation with the manager Jose who is very helpful and a super nice person.
Since our regular spot closed, we haven't really found that great place for replacement, and I think this is the place. With them being new they have some kinks to work out, as with any new business, but it did not affect the quality of the food which shows management cares about the business.
Jasmine was very attentive to our needs, and got everything right and on point with refills and keeping us updated on everything, which also shows she cares (this is hard to find these days).
Give this place a shot and you will not be...
Read moreWe came around 1pm after searching for a new brunch spot since most of brunch restaurants in SCV are always packed on the weekends. The restaurant is a bit hidden in the back next to Edward’s theater. We enjoyed the moms and pops ambiance and the hospitality. We were greeted with a smile and kind welcome by the staff. The restaurant is clean and spacious with an open kitchen. The menus have a great selections for brunch and lunch. Found out from the staff that they just opened for about a month and it’s a family’s business. We ordered steak and eggs, Cream cheese and Berries pancake, Green tea (Matcha) waffles with scrambled egg and bacon, and Norby sandwich. It took about 10 minutes to get our food. The portions were good and the ingredients were fresh. Not oily and loved how they cook my bacons, super crispy! We enjoyed the steak the best. Cook perfectly with a pink center and well seasoned. The berries on the pancakes and Waffles were fresh. In my opinion, the waffles could’ve been crispier, but great presentation for sure.
Overall, it was great experience and we will come back to try their recommendations, chilaquiles and chili omelette. Good to know that we have a new brunch breakfast place to...
