2022.01-29/1120: Still wonderful after all these years! We haven't been here a several months and it was the perfect day for some comfort food. Since it's been a while since we've been here, I'm having a hard time deciding what I like to eat each time! I decided to go with the Banh Xeo because it's something super rare to get! With the pho, I can get that anywhere but with the Banh Xeo, not every restaurant makes it and plus, I can nibble or have a sip from the hubby's pho, if permissible!
This time, my we opted out on the Spring Rolls platter so we can eat our entire meal this time. Man, oh, man. This time, the Banh Xeo was the perfect crispiness on the bottom just as the top. No sogginess. And they gave me enough lettuce to wrap each piece of it! I love the texture of a piece of the crispy Banh Xeo crepe wrapped in lettuce. You eat the Banh Xeo just like you eat the fried Spring Rolls. Yes, you wrap them in lettuce and dip them in the sweetened fish sauce. DELICIOUS. The contents of the crepe are so perfect - bean sprouts, pork and shrimp. Of course, they give you a fresh sprig of basil to place inside of the crepe. The other garnish to eat with your crepe is the pickled carrots and radish along with slices of cucumber. I also ordered a side of tendon. Their tendon is fall apart deliciousness in your mouth!
He had #27, which was a pho that had a combination of meats - brisket, tendon, flank steak and fatty brisket. He even ordered extra meat for his soup in which they always serve you separately so you can see that you ordered extra meat. It's a huge portion! Pretty much another bowl of soup!
You can never go wrong with Pho Viet and can't wait to return to have another tasty dish!
Three years ago: Best place in Canyon Country for pho! Consistent customer service and quality of food is excellent! We used to live right around the corner and visit weekly. Pricing to portions is beyond excellent. Affordable. The broth for their pho is always authentic and delicious. Their sweetened fish dipping sauce is indescribable and it's usually served with their vermicelli noodle bowls and vermicelli patties dishes! The spring rolls are another favorite thing. You get a variety of rolls with several dipping sauces. This is a staple with every visit! We love this place so much that we'll drive from anywhere to visit!...
Read moreWe live on the other side of SCV and have been eating at Pho Sure for years, where the food and service are always outstanding and consistent. A few weeks ago, I passed by this Vietnamese restaurant and told my husband I wanted to try it because their menu offered a few dishes we don’t often see at Pho Sure. We were really looking forward to trying it, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing experience.
The service was poor from the start. While waiting for our food, the A/C was blasting so cold that it became uncomfortable. We moved to a next table and tried to inform the waitress, but she was nowhere to be found—even after we waited about 20 minutes. When the first dish finally arrived, it was placed at our old table. I explained that we had moved, but instead of understanding, the waitress seemed upset and complained that we hadn’t asked permission to change tables. We had tried to do exactly that but couldn’t find anyone to ask.
The food didn’t redeem the experience either:
The chả giò were burnt on the outside, soggy inside, with large chunks of mushroom and pork, served alongside a bland, MSG-heavy fish sauce. The bánh xèo was crispy but ruined by thick slices of pork dyed with artificial red coloring that bled into the dish. The Hủ tiếu khô came with the same red-colored pork and a poorly balanced sauce. In the end, we left hungry and disappointed because the food was so unappealing.
📌 This was our first and last visit. We won’t...
Read moreI live in Lancaster and decided to drive the 35 minutes to this restaurant and it did not disappoint. However, it is on the pricey side. I got 4 items and the total was $67 which is $16.75 per item, which is outrageous since one of items was spring rolls.
Bun Ca "Rach Gia" Style. I was actually born in rach gia. Grew up eating it at home and summer visits to vietnam so I know exactly how it should taste. I was pleasantly surprised to see this on the menu because no one ever has it! However, greatly disappointed because it was no way near Rach gia style. The broth was flavorless. They gave soooo much fish (which tasted fine.) but my biggest issue was the shrimp because it was just a basic boiled shrimp. It should have been marinated correctly. Overall, do not get this because it's so basic and bland. 0/5
Shrimp & pork spring rolls were good! Just on the smaller side. 4/5
Bun thit nuong was good and tasted how it should be. I just wish they gave more noodles. They were quite skimpy there. 4/5
Com tam suong ngon. Grilled pork chops basically and this was well done as well! The meat was a bit more tough than I would have liked but I appreciate getting 2 large pieces. But again, more rice please! Don't skimp on the cheap stuff like noodles/rice. 4/5
I picked up and the check out girl was nice. Overall, i would come again since it's only 35 minutes...
