iHop on a Sunday with no wait? Unheard of! Well, that's what happened as we tried this local location for the first time. We were prepared to wait, as every time we'd ever been to an iHop anywhere, especially on a weekend, we've had to wait quite a while...so we were pleasantly surprised when we were seated immediately upon arrival.
They had everything you'd expect from an iHop, but with the new addition of Impossible Sausage as a side option which excited us vegetarians who are often negotiating with breakfast restaurant servers on what's possible to replace the meat with that comes with all the breakfast platters.
In this case, the negotiations didn't go well...you can get Impossible Sausage as an a-la-carte side. You can get it with the few items it comes with...but they had no earthly ability to substitute Impossible Sausage for regular sausage in any of the combos regular sausage came with. That was really disappointing, especially at a high-volume place like this with MANY other breakfast options nearby. We ended up having to do a lot of a-la-carte options just to make the "combo" we wanted which left us paying more and not getting exactly what we wanted. Disappointing.
The food was as good as you'd expect. Acceptable for breakfast but not outstanding.
The Tres Leches Pancakes my son good were a bit rubbery which was also disappointing at the house of 'pancakes.'
We appreciated the quick service, but with lots of other breakfast restaurant options in the Santa Clarita Valley, this experience won't have us...
Read moreI live close to this IHOP and I’ve been here many times over the years. Sadly, the overall level of food quality, service and atmosphere has steadily gone down over the past 10 years. Unfortunately, the pandemic didn’t help as is the case with so many restaurants. Last night we went for the first time in a long time to see if things have improved and to support this struggling establishment. We stood at the front waiting to be seated for five minutes before we finally gave up and left. Although there were only four tables with patrons and four or five employees walking around, no one ever came to the front or acknowledged that we were there. There was also a patron at the cashier’s station near us waiting to pay from the time we walked in until the time we left. We even watched as servers looked our direction and then turned and walked the other way. This restaurant doesn’t suffer from labor shortage problems. It suffers from poor management. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is closed permanently the next time...
Read moreWe stopped at an IHOP, just near Magic Mount, For pancakes and syrup, the kind that still count. But oh, what a treat! What a magical sight! A balloon artist wandered from left to the right!
He twisted up dogs! He twisted up bees! He made a giraffe with remarkable ease! For kiddos and grown-ups, he crafted with flair, A tiger! A sword! Even pink panda bears!
He wasn’t a clown (no makeup to fear), Just a fun, friendly guy bringing balloon-based cheer! He worked for your tips — yes, both cash and card — And I’ll bet he goes home with his pockets quite starred!
We chatted a bit — turns out it’s a trade, His whole fam does balloons! What a business they’ve made! Great for your parties, with talent galore, And probably booked up with folks at the door! Or Though traffic outside gave the brakes quite a test, Inside, it was breakfast and joy at its best. So if you like pancakes and animals, too, This IHOP’s a gem with a fun-loving...
