I rarely take time to write a review. But I was just getting the address for a someone and saw the review section and decided I should weigh in. I've been to Tokyo and learned to eat sushi there before it was such a hot thing it's been for years now. I swear Light and Healthy is the best sushi I've had since Japan. And that's saying a lot. I worked 11 years for a Japanese company and been to what was the considered among the best sushi places there. And, since we had a steady stream of japanese colleagues coming here to CA, we ended up over the years picking out the best LA area sushi places to take the japanese guys who didn't like 'american' food. So, I'm a pretty savvy sushi eater. And,,,,Light and Healthy is the only place I want to go to. I'm known as a 'sushi snob' among my family and friends, and I usually just don't really enjoy it anywhere else. This is not your 'gringo' sushi place though, keep that in mind. You're not going to find cream cheese in anything. It's not a california roll place. You'll find a more traditional japanese experience. If you go a few times, you can just sat down and say 'surprise me' and you'll be surprised!! Have fun! Order frozen sake (can't really find it anywhere else). You won't be disappointed. Also, if you're new to sushi, tell them!! They're break...
Read moreExceeded my expectations. All you can eat sushi is generally synonymous with colon cleansers and fragranced refuse but this place has changed my perspective. I read the reviews before dropping in and was surprised how much fanfare the place had. The scope of 20+ year customers who raved about it made me curious and heck that is either a good sign or a collection of the longest lasting immune systems I am aware of. I was actually impressed by this place and got very lucky as a 10+ year customer came in and shared with me her favorites which were all very good. So, if you have a desire to give the words all you can eat sushi a second chance at life, try this place out. The cost is $32 which is not cheap but when you look at what you get for it, it makes perfect sense. So go hungry, spend an hour in the place and go home without a stomach ache, smell of fish on you or that gag reflex that most all you can eat rubber causes. This...
Read moreUse to come here since it was very close. First couple times was great but the main chef and older Asian lady started to get more and more weird. He would tell us he’s closed when they would have an hour before closing. Last time we called and asked if they had seating for my family of 4 he said “come now we have it for 10 min” showed up in 8 minutes and he tried to split my family up to sit separate across the bar with the babies. When I said no thank you he yelled out in front of the whole restaurant “okay byyeee”Extremely odd people. His wife I think means well but would make us very uncomfortable always trying to touch my kids while we were trying to eat Place is extremely dirty as well the last time we went in and looked like the booths are not available anymore. Would not recommend for mediocre expensive sushi. Kinza is much better for the same price and have an awesome...
