Absolutely delicious food at great prices. When ur first seated the server brings crispy won ton strips and two sauces, the red sweet & sour sauce, as well as the plum sauce. We ordered the spring rolls which were very fresh, crunchy, and cooked to perfection. Plus u have two choices of dipping sauces! We ordered the large won ton soup which had plenty of chicken, pork and shrimp. The soup was very flavorful with very fresh vegetables and delicious won tons. We ordered three entrees: First kung pao chicken, which had lean chicken cooked well, the brown sauce was excellent, not too much to make the entree overpowering. The peanuts were crunchy, and the heat was tame, although u can always ask for xtra spicey. Best Kung Pao I've had in a long time! Second entree was szechuan pork. The pork was cooked well and the vegetables were fresh. Very flavorful dish. Third entree was cashew chicken. Good lean chicken with plenty of crunchy cashews. All dishes had very good sized portions. All food was fresh, with good cuts of meat. The service was also excellent! Very kind and warm servers, that were extremely attentive. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with lots of private boths, although the food is the definite star attraction. Parking is plentiful. I highly recommend...
Read moreI decided to visit this restaurant and I really wanted it to be awesome. I placed my order over the phone, then ran two errands and I was thinking I’d be getting cold food by the time I returned, but the food still hadn’t been made by the time I showed up to pick it up. I estimate it was about a 30-45 minute wait for only orange chicken and rice. Also, when I placed the order, the guy taking the order paused and let out an audible sigh when I asked for the price for the food. It was very strange.
The food was pretty good, but the chicken was slightly over cooked. The sauce and flavoring was delicious though.
The service was also incredibly disorganized when I was in the restaurant waiting for my food and it felt like the people who should be getting the food were ignoring everyone waiting. It seemed like no one wanted to help each other out. Like they had their task that they were supposed to do and didn’t work as a team to help give a great customer experience. The cashier seemed like he had too many tasks to do which may just be poor management and delegation.
Overall, this is a decent option if you're in a pinch, but there are definitely better restaurants out there. To summarize: decent food,...
Read moreWith so many generic Chinese Food restaurants all over town...all over every town really, we found Mandarin Wong, albeit in a mostly non-descript atmosphere, to be among the better options in terms of the actual food!
They had plenty for vegetarians including "Lemon Tofu" which we hadn't had any kind of version of since before we were vegetarians. It tasted just like we remembered, albeit with tofu instead of chicken or beef.
We also had veggie egg rolls (good), and Fried Rice as an upgrade to the rice that came with the food we ordered. (It's a basic fried rice with no vegetables in it but it tasted good.)
My wife was happy with her "Buddha's Feast" which came with a generous amount of tofu and vegetables, and the egg flower soup she ordered was swimming with a generous amount of eggs and tasted good too.
We appreciate a place that has many vegetarian options and thought, among the vast array of Chinese Food options nearby or anywhere, Mandarin Wong is a good go-to for basic Chinese food offerings that we would...
