Sorry, this is long-winded.
TL:DR This was a comfortable little restaurant with delicious Persian food. 8/10
This was my first time eating here. I'd had Persian food on a few different occasions, but I'm still pretty new to the cuisine.
The location is a bit strange or secluded, and might lead you to think of this restaurant as a "hole-in-the-wall". The interior is very nice however. Very polished, if small. You can tell they put a lot of work into creating a comfortable space. More of a bistro or cafe than a typical "hole-in-the-wall".
When I was seated, they brought over some very thin and mild bread (lavash, I think). I recommend eating this with your entre or ordering a dip, as it's good on its own but was better as a compliment to what I had ordered.
I ordered the baghale polo with lamb shank. I really loved the melt in your mouth lamb, though the baghale polo was good too. I'd never had it before, so i didn't really know what to expect. It's basically a fava bean and dill pilaf served with the lamb shank that had been braised in a thin tomato sauce. The basmati rice was pretty fluffy; not the way I'd have expected, but it sounds like that's the traditional way.
My meal plus a bottled beverage came out to around $28 after taxes. It was plenty of food for that price. The service was excellent (if sometimes too attentive).
Two notes to the owner:
Has both great quality food and a nice outdoor area for smoking hookah.
We had two of the appetizer combinations, which include potato salad, cucumber salad, hummus and a yogurt sauce. Everything was really good. We thought the sizes would be bigger, but considering the price it was fair.
We also had two orders of the stuffed grape leaves. The first one I had was a bit tough on the outside, but the second one was better. The flavor for both was decent.
The appetizer Tadig also seems to be popular there. I gave it a try, and it was ok, but I don't think i'd order it again.
Also ordered two meat platters for our group to share: including the Barg Kabob and the Kabob combo that comes with chicken, beef, etc. Both were really good.
The place doesn't have much in the way of desserts, but they were accommodating and let us bring out own.
While I think you can eat outside, it was pretty full when we got there, so we ate inside and then went out. Even in the cold air it felt ok with the heaters. The hookah was well packed and...

This restaurant means so much to me. From the excellent food to the exceptional service. I have been following this restaurant since the beginning of time. No matter where I'am I will always make time to go. Feels super cozy when I get in, as if it was a home away from home.
My family and I have our bonding moments here, I've referred all my friends to go and they always tell me that this is the best quality they've ever tried.
This restaurant is a getaway for me. It really belongs in a competitive area. The best quality that money can buy. Raffi's Place, Carousel, Sadaf, they all are mediocre when it comes to this joint.
Well done sir. Looking forward to your future endeavors. #wish you nothing but success...
