I've been wanting to try Rose & Crown since I moved to Newhall a year ago and once I learned they have London Pride on tap. (An English bitter I had quite a lot on a trip to England a number of years ago so it has some muscle memory on my tongue.)
I finally got to go! The London Pride was just as I remembered it (though pesky US health codes require it to be a bit colder than it's served in the UK.) The atmosphere inside is nice and "British" with the bar being the main gathering spot with a decent amount of seating in the dining areas. One of the reasons it took me so long to come here is they close early for a pub. It's really more of a restaurant in this respect so don't plan on coming here as part of a late night pub-crawl. If you can get over that, show up for dinner or an early drink and your golden.
I came for dinner, so in addition to the London Pride (and there are plenty of other beers on tap to choose from) I got the one vegetarian item on the menu which was the Cheese and Onion Pasty. I got it as a meal meaning it was served with peas (not mushy) and a side of my choice (fries chosen over mashed potatoes and salad.) It was good, indulgent, lots of cheese in a pastry crust...this and the peas and fries satisfied me.
I do wish they had other vegetarian options. Maybe a vegetarian version of a shepherd's pie made with Impossible or Beyond Meat, or anything really...much of my experience dining in England was informed by how vegetarian friendly they are. Lots of choices at pubs and restaurants, usually helpful labeled so they were easy to spot in menus. Newhall, or the Santa Clarita Valley as a whole may not be a mecca for vegetarians, but I live around the corner so, well, I'm here. I also couldn't really get away with taking my gluten-free wife here as there was nothing on the menu for her.
All that having been said, I really enjoyed the experience of being there and would happily go back for another...

Iโve only stopped by in fall but I over heard someone asking about tacos from the previous season and seemed like they must have been good cause she was bummed about them going away for the season, Iโm gonna have to come back next summer! I just love this place so much, thank you to the family keeping this place amazing.

This is a must visit! AMAZING! I know the food looks simple but it is soooo worth the visit! We will stop by every time we visit six flags from now on. We had the shepherds pie and the clover pasty, had to share because both were amazing! The peas were fresh and delicious. We were able to order a flight of four beers and they were all so good with so many to choose from. I also got an apple lantern ( a special one for October ) it was perfect, highly recommend. And to finish it all off we ordered the sticky toffee pudding with custard. . . believe me when I tell you I felt like crying, it was so amazing my husband and I were in total bliss. The atmosphere ia chill and relaxed (and decorated for halloween ๐๐ป which I loved). The service is perfect, 100%! You know that awkward moment when you're eating, full mouth and the host or server come ask how everything is going? Did not happen once! And when I did need something l was attended to that moment. We showed up an hour before closing and were trying to finish up our meals around closing time and even though they were closing I was still allowed to order my custard and enjoy it with no rush. ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!...

From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a warm vibeโit seems to be run by a lovely trio of a father, daughter, and son. The son took care of us, and I must say, his service was as spot-on. Now, the food! Each dish was a proper treat, packed with authentic British flavours that made me feel like Iโd been transported straight to a pub in the UK. We had a lovely pot of tea to go with our mealโtruly the perfect accompaniment. And donโt even get me started on the sticky toffee pudding, it was so delicious! The restaurant itself is a delightful homage to all things UK, with walls dedicated to british music, of course the Beatles and plenty of pretty knick-knacks thatโll make you feel right at home. If you fancy some friendly service, good food, and a dash of British charm, this place is an absolute winner. Highly...
