Urbane Cafe — Restaurant in Santa Clarita

We've been going to this Urbane Cafe since it opened years ago and found it was the BEST over the others on our area. The previous manager was superior, friendly, asking customers about how they enjoyed their food, etc. However, we returned recently and it's painfully clear that the new management is not overseeing the QUALITY of the food being prepared. Not that "it's prepared the same", as the manager kept repeating to me when approached with the information. The salads were not fresh as before. The meat on a sandwich was rubbery and cold. The dressing, which are house prepared, tasted different in a bad way. Balsamic dressing was extremely oily, the Ranch (which we could drink straight up it was so good before) was terrible, with an off taste to it. Our bread was flat, not fluffy, and served ice cold. Trying to speak with the new manager was a waste and, frankly, infuriating, because he spouts off at me... "Sorry that our service doesn't meet with YOUR standards." Our standards? I was establishing evidence of a negative change based upon years of positive experience. Guess his standards of low quality is the new norm at this location. Please bring back the old manager. Wife ordered through Door Dash and the washer only picked up half our oder...or kept half, I don't know which. This is because I drove to the restaurant to pick up the missing order to discover that it wasn't there. The employees who helped me (Michelle and Emily) were both very kind and empathetic. They quickly had the missing order remade and even offered me a cookie and beverage while I waited. They really went above and beyond! The food has always been great quality and value. Customer service has always been great bilut it was exceptional last night. Again. This is the Urbane Cafe location in Santa Clarita on Golden Valley Rd. I can't speak to customer service at other locations (food seems to have great quality regardless of location) but this location really proved what the standard for customer service and...

Jessica is absolutely the best manager. (85yo) Mom’s favorite food there was the Italian Wedding Meatball soup. We arrived to learn it had been discontinued 😔. So Mom tried the new enchilada soup which was too spicy. The server brought a sample of tomato soup which mom did care for. We then asked for a half of the club sandwich. It came as a full sandwich and box to take home half, from the server and manager Jessica. Jessica was so kind and apologetic for the difficult experience. Mom loved the sandwich and now has a new favorite. We will absolutely be back and hope to see our new friend Jessica. She’s so authentic in the way she cares for her customers and also her employees.

But we absolutely hope the wedding meatball soup will come...
