WaBa Grill — Restaurant in Santa Clarita

So sad in this day and age of Restaurants Galore that Waba Grill has become the latest price gouger out there. Is Gouger even a word? Perhaps Not. Walked in here tonight with the intention of getting my Grub on... sadly it would Not happen. Waited a couple of minutes for the girl to come to the register. Noticed prices went up (not terribly, just a few cents here and there). Went to order my staple, The Waba Signature Plate. Was told, quite rudely, that I would have to pay Extra since I didn't want Rice. Sure, penalize me for wanting to be healthy. No More Waba for me!! I'm done with them. So sad cause I really liked their food. However, with an extra charge for being healthy and a side of attitude, No Thank you. Judging by the crowd in there. 2 people, they Probably could've used my order of 8 Plates! Hungry family at home will Now be disappointed. However with 10 Gazillion places to eat out there, I'm sure I'll find a substitute.

Lesson 1) Don't have an attitude with your customer. Lesson 2) Don't boast "Eating Smart and Being Healthy" then penalize a customer for wanting to do Just That. Lesson 3) There are MANY places that offer Healthy Food Options on-the-go!

Funny just a month ago I was in here and I ordered my standard, which incidentally included No Rice, and the gal not only made my food to order, she actually gave me avocado at NO Charge. Funny how a New Year and Perhaps new ownership...

After having a bad experience before, I decided to give WaBa Grill another chance since the large sign outside says, “Under New Management”.

When I went inside and ordered I thought things would go great. I sat down and waited for my food inside. As I’m waiting, three people came in and ordered their food and walked out with their food within 10 mins. I saw a bag sitting there and I also kept eye contact with the person I ordered from.

After about 20 mins of waiting and seeing people come in and out of the restaurant with their orders, I decided to go up and ask when my order would be ready. He pointed to the bag and said, this is your order here. The bag that has been sitting there for 20 mins with no mention of it being my order or even ready.

I asked for a refund and he asked, “you don’t want the food anymore?”. I said, “no, my food has been sitting there for 20 mins and you haven’t mentioned that my food was ready or that it was even mine even though I’ve been here looking at you the whole time, would you eat that?” He stated, “yes, I would”. Ordered the mini bowl with chicken. Saturday July 1, 2023. The woman at the counter seemed to get some sort of delight in telling me that I was only getting ' rice & chicken' and nothing else. I've ordered this dish many times at other Wabas and this is the first to not give any green onions with the order ( no access to get any onions unless asking for them it appears) . Other customer's food in the restaurant had these onions on their plates. Therefore this store ' holds back ' these condiments which is most likely out of balance with company policy. Not impressed. Will avoid this place..

August 28, 2023. in reviewing my post from July 1, 2023it appears that someone else posted a bad review FROM THE SAME DAY He must have run into the same RUDE WOMAN ( elderly from another country of origin) whose rigidity, lack of friendliness, and callous interpretations of the menu were on display .
