Never been to a pharmacy that doesn't run your insurance before telling you that it isn't covered and even after the policy holder calls and tells you that they have contacted their insurance carrier and have been told that it was covered and that they said to tell the pharmacy to submit a claim for the medication. You would think that after all that they would do it to make 100% sure that they are correct. But that is not what happened in my case . I took my 5 year old daughter to the Urgent Care directly across the street from Walgreens she was prescribed Tamiflu which our pharmacy (CVS) was out of. The Dr. said we should call around and see if other pharmacies have it and Walgreens just happened to have it. The dr.s office then called the pharmacy in which time a mistake was made and the medical assistant gave incorrect information stating my insurance was Medi-Cal (which it wasn't) at the same time the pharmacist Stephanie was finishing up the call my husband just happened to arrive at the pharmacy she told him that my insurance didn't cover the medication and that it would be $125. The pharmacy never asked my husband for the card nor did they ask what type of insurance we had. Stephanie just ASSumed that it was Medi-cal. Even after I called my insurance and confirmed it was covered and called the pharmacy back spoke to someone who worked there and told them that my insurance said for them to submit a claim it still was not done. Again Stephanie was sure that my insurance was Medi-cal and it wouldn't be covered and denied to take the prescription from the urgent care over the phone. About an hour after calling the urgent care and the pharmacy I told my husband we should call to see if it was ready since no one had called me to follow up. And to my horror Stephanie said again it wasn't covered under Medi-cal I was furious and told her that I do not have Medi-cal Its private insurance that I pay of through my work. I asked her several times why no claim was submitted she said because of the plan she ASSumed it was Medi-cal. Realizing that she had made a big mistake she smugly and arrogantly said that she would call the urgent care to get the prescription . I asked her if she was going to submit a claim this time. She again said if you want me to I can call to get the prescription. Never at anytime throughout this conversation or even when my husband picked up the prescription was an apology offered or some sense of responsibility taken for her actions in all of this. After finally submitting a claim to my insurance the medication was $5 and she was trying to get me to pay $125 . Stephanie it's highly impossible that you know what a persons insurance will cover and definitely shouldn't ASSume just submit the claim. And brings me to wonder how many other people you have...
Read moreIt has takeing me a couple months to write this. This is the worst experience with the worst pharmacist as well as pharmacy. I have ever been to.I was treated like I was nothing. She make her opinion know The pharmacist was rude, judgmental, and so very disrespectful she proceeds to tell me how she is tired of people from nearby city's coming to get their medication filled and tells us I was not allowed to come back again and this was a one time thing like she was doing me a favor and she was going to write it in my charts ... I walked in with a valid prescription already in alot of pain I explained I called eariler and the pharmacy CVS across the street sent me to them I had also explain I was unable to get my medicine filled for a week due in my own area and was told to go to them. I have been going to Walgreens for years. When I got there driving 45 from home because not one pharmacy around home had the medication On top of me filling it a few weeks past refill date she told me she would fill it and saying it was in stock she then proceeds to say she has to call my Dr. to see why I am takeing the medication.. now its 24 hour pharmacy then was told I had to come back the next morning to get it filled she then refused to give me my prescription.I am now seeing more and more bad reviews to this pharmacist and pharmacy .Please be aware you have rights as a patient with a valid prescription for them to fill not to give an opinions they have one job to do if you have a valid prescription they are required by law to fill it. Make sure you get the Store number and the pharmacists name as soon as it happens to report what happend to you...
Read moreThe female, African-American pharmacist told me that she didn't have enough pills to fill my prescription. She told me she could fill half now and if I came back in a week, she would fill the rest. I agreed but when I came back she wouldn't do it and said that she never said that. Then she walked away from me while I was still talking to her. She went in the back and wouldn't come back out. And it's not like I was yelling at her. She just decided that she was done talking to me. This doctor retired that month and wasn't available to write a new prescription. I couldn't get the medication that I needed because of her mistake and she wouldn't even acknowledge it. Poor customer service, unprofessional and ridiculously high prices and long waiting time. It's not much better across the street at cvs but at least they won't walk away while you're...
