My grandchildren and I visited the Santa Cruz Fungi Popsicle stand on the Santa Cruz wharf and discovered an amazing treat! There were so many flavors to choose from and the kids each had 3! The popsicles are delicious and don't contain sugar, which makes them the perfect treat for little - and big - kids! The owners, Katie and Paul, are fun, charming and love sharing their unique way to enjoy the health benefits of mushrooms.

I had a popsicle as we were leaving the wharf and my grandson asked what flavor it was (cordy) and if he could have a tiny bite? I let him have a nibble, then I had a bite. Last year, we hosted a kid's bike event at Patagonia Santa Cruz, and Santa Cruz Fungi was an excellent addition. Their mushroom umbrella setup was adorable, and their smiley face popsicles were a huge hit with the kids AND adults!

I was worried these would taste like mushrooms—don’t get me wrong, I LOVE mushrooms—but they taste like super decadent gelato pops. No trace of mushroom taste. My 5-year old insists on getting the chocolate one every time! The matcha and strawberry popsicles are SO refreshing and good for fans of sorbet.
