McDonald's used to be one of my favourite places to eat when I was a kid. The food tasted good, the restaurant was clean, open and inviting. You even got a tiny cookie in your Sunday, and peanuts sprinkled on top by request. Now, the whole chain has been redesigned to make you feel uncomfortable being there. Everything is smaller: the food, the seating, the counter. Literally EVERYTHING. no cookie for you, and if you want peanuts, you have to add them yourself from a tiny packet (thanks legal team!)
There's even a needle bin. Disgusting. If McDonald's wanted to be great again, first step is to stop redecorating. We want the nostalgia, not this creepy nuveau cram-people-together seating. No booths? no thanks.
Also, work on that food. I can get a grass-fed burger anywhere in town for $13. Maybe, since your charging that much for meals with upsized fries, you could afford that? Downsize the sodas, $1 for diabetes sized corn syrup isn't helping anyone. Change your coke products to cane sugar and charge $2. I just made you better than any national chain right there. Use real grass-fed beef in ALL your burgers. Cut and double- cook your fries on site. Use only natural ingredients in ALL YOUR FOOD. FIRE SOME VP'S!!! save money at the top, not by cutting food and stop wasting money on making your restaurant less inviting to sit in.
UPDATE 2/5/19: I don't know why I'm here again, maybe because I love torture #gogiants. but this Mission st location is SERIOUSLY UNDERSTAFFED. There is a lonely table number here still waiting for its food. My dine-in order got put in a bag. Nothing says "you're not welcome" quite like having your food cold and ready to leave before you. Even still, you can put a burgerand fries on a tray and carry it 12 feet in the time it takes you to call out a number 3 times. Fast food isn't fast anymore. it's just rude food. all bad.
Congratulations on earning your one...
Read moreThis McDonalds is really sad. It's obviously underserviced and likely has stressed out staff.
I went on a Sunday morning and was immediately aware if how unclean it was. I waited in feont of the register to order but the staff passed me multiple times without acknowledgement. I figured maybe we needed to use the ordering machine instead. The machines weren't super simple. After a couple failed attempts to locate the 'meals' section, I saw that someone behind me was being serviced by the staff so I went back in line.
Tthere was nobody cleaning tables and floors so every unoccupied table was filthy. I sat to wait for my meal but had to keep my arms from touching/resting on anything to avoid unwanted ketchup elbows. Since we wanted to eat our meals while they were hot, we decided to eat in our car in the parking lot instead of busing our own table. The fries were unsalted, which is strange, and the burger was cold.
I've been to poorly-kept fsst food restaurants many times but this one takes the cake for...
Read moreWe only started eating at McDonalds about a year ago when we were traveling. Over that time, one of the things we have noticed is the food is fairly consistent in quality and taste. So, what sets one McDonalds apart from another one? The customer service!
We found the employees here, to be very nice! At a lot of McDonalds, they try to avoid taking your order and point you to a kiosk. Not at this one! When we walked in, there was someone who came over to the register and asked us what we would like. Quite refreshing!
Also, they were really busy, and the empty tables were dirty. So, we went over and asked for a towel to clean one, and the employee (we think the manager) came right over and cleaned it for us. They also went and cleaned others tables after ours, which we didn't expect.
Overall, the food is what you would expect from a McDonalds, but the...
