We had our wedding after-party at Mission West, with dancing and a DJ on the back patio. It was the best decision we could have possibly made. From our perspective, there were zero flaws. The venue has such outstanding vibes, great ownership and staff who run the bar very well and are a delight to work with. Our friends had the best time and it felt like every idea we had they were able to make happen. We were so stoked to support what they have going on there and have since recommended Mission West to a friend who is also going to have their wedding after party there. I travel to Santa Cruz for work and was looking for a place with a good, additive free tequila selection. I found Mission West in an SF Gate article about bars in Santa Cruz. What a great spot! Steve, the bartender, was beyond excellent. I drink Espresso Tequila Martini's made with blanco tequila and he nailed it. This is a locals spot but I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the regulars were. I got some good local restaurant recommendations and left knowing I would go back here on a future visit...

It is what it is, a bar. A few years ago the bar changed owners and its name and changed from a place for hard drinking types to a more varied clientele.
