Roxa Hammock Cafe is an absolute treasure in Santa Cruz, CA, offering an enchanting blend of art, alchemy, and health-conscious organic cuisine. 🌿🌌
This cafe isn’t just a place to grab a meal; it’s an experience that tantalizes the senses and nourishes the body and soul. It’s fascinating to know that it’s the first hammock cafe in the US, making it an exciting destination for families, friends, and couples alike.
We embarked on a culinary journey, exploring their unique and health-focused menu. First, we sampled the herbal elixirs and tonics, each crafted with precision and care. Piper’s Calling, with its blend of Pc chuchuhuasi, piper methysticum, pine pollen, and piperine, was a revelation of flavors and medicinal benefits. Wanderlust, featuring fermented kanna, wild dagga, pine pollen, piper methysticum, and stevia, was like sipping a mystic potion, with its intriguing combination of ingredients.
For coffee aficionados, the Mud coffee was a must-try. It’s the kind of coffee that warms the soul, and knowing it’s free from refined sugar and canola oil only added to the pleasure.
The Acai bowl was a delightful treat, brimming with natural sweetness and freshness. Knowing that all ingredients are carefully selected and devoid of gluten made it even more enjoyable.
The atmosphere here is a work of art in itself, with a floor infused with black tourmaline, creating an ambiance of tranquility and positivity. The window overlooking Abbot Square is a charming touch, connecting you to the vibrant energy of Santa Cruz.
Upstairs on the second floor mezzanine, we found an elixir bar apothecary with siphon brew, adding to the mystical aura of the place.
Roxa Hammock Cafe is a testament to the idea that food can be both delicious and nurturing. It’s a place where art, health, and culinary innovation harmoniously coexist. We left with our spirits lifted and our bodies rejuvenated, eager to return and explore more of their...
Read moreThe hammocks are not safe! My husband fell off from one of the hammocks on the second floor in the cafe today in the afternoon because the wooden bar that holds the hammock broke. His back hit the wooden floor and his head hit the plant pot on the floor. I yelled help and the customers on the first floor called the staffs and they quickly came upstairs to check my husband. Later on the staffs connected us with the store manager over the phone. I told the manager that we requested a signed incident report. The staffs then described the incident on a piece of small note paper and called it “hammock failure” but without signature. The staff members said they just work in the cafe and was not in charge of the store. I understood, so the note just left with the store name and today’s date. We messaged the note to the store manager, Jazmine, who we just spoke with over the phone, and asked if she could kindly confirm this. I am disappointed that we received no reply at all. We were traveling here and had to catch a train, therefore we didn’t have time to stay in the store longer and left the store as soon as my husband could try to slowly walk. It is now late tonight and I am very disappointed that the store manager still has not replied our message yet. The staffs are warm and kind and tried to offer help, but the attitude of the manager/owner is surprisingly disappointing, since this is clearly store liability, in my opinion.
I am writing the review to alert other potential customers of the risks, also try to leave a note...
Read moreWe were downtown for "First Friday" the fun local excuse to celebrate the artistic community in santa Cruz every first Friday of each month, when my Daughter who's 9yrs young said, "Hey, COOL!, CHECK THIS OUT!". Let's go in there. I almost said no as it was late and tint to be getting her to bed. It was the last weekend of her Winter holliday, and I value freedom. So, we went in. It was such a great concept for sure, I loved the artist displayed. He had done the well textured as well as the displayed canvases. I think if the venue was much larger, people could really Swing on the hammocks instead of bumping into tables full of drinks. That said, this place is totally worth experiencing. You'll want to enjoy the wonderful food and elixirs. We really loved the fruit and granola bowl with a delightful sense of quality and pride. This place has the potential to grow much more if they can expand and continue to offer quality as we...
