Introducing the newest talk of the town – Baked & Brew (@santafebaked). If you’ve driven down Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe lately, you have likely noticed their adorable blue 1950s garage and gas station-style building, a delightful transformation from the former location of Sweet Motor Cars to a cozy artisanal bakery and cafe! From the moment you step in, the aroma of fresh coffee and pastries welcomes you. They craft everything in-house and do their best to use local ingredients. I asked one of the owners, Nicole, what the best-selling items were, and she said it was hard to say because they’ve been selling out of everything daily! The items I have seen folks rave about online are the Buenos Dias Buns and the Everything Croissants with Cream Cheese and Green Chile. I picked up the latter for my husband, James, as well as pour-over coffee and gigantic raspberry and chocolate ganache-filled Macaron (helllooooo dessert for breakfast!) for myself!  Open weekdays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, or until they sell out, Baked & Brew is a spot you should check out during your morning commute. Their goodies are so good that they often run out before closing time! Find them at 1310 Cerrillos Road on the corner of Cerrillos and Baca Street.  I’m excited by how much buzz this new spot is getting in only the first few weeks of business! I went on a Tuesday at 7:45 am, and there was a good flow of customers, but not overly crowded, and plenty of places to sit. They have plans to play around with possible gluten-free and dairy-free offerings but do not currently have items that fit these restrictions. Eventually, they plan to offer mobile ordering, and open a three-lane drive-thru up front — how great would that be?! Have you been to Baked & Brew yet? What did you have that you recommend? Share this with someone you think would enjoy this new bakery, and follow me for more things to do in Santa Fe, New Mexico!

We were blown away by how beautiful and delicious everything was! It was such a small, unassuming building but beautifully renovated with a glass-enclosed kitchen so you can see them working throughout the day. Their website does say that items are only available until they sell out, so you should definitely get there early if you can. If I had to pick our top four favorites, I'd choose the "everything" croissant with cream cheese and green chile filling, the churro croissant (as big as my face!), the boar bacon and gruyere croissant, and the key lime bar — but honestly, there wasn't a single bad item in our entire (large) order. The peach jam that we wanted to try was sold out and when we asked when they might get more, the owner said the peaches were being delivered the next day at noon and she would need a couple hours to make the jam — so that gives you an idea of how fresh and local this stuff is! Later that day, we stopped by another Santa Fe business where an employee asked where we had visited so far and when we mentioned Baked and Brew, her eyes lit up and she asked, "DID YOU TRY THE CROISSANTS?!" So, the locals definitely know how good it is too!

First off, the food deserves five stars. The pastries are beautiful and delicious and there are a ton of sweet and savory options. The coffee was fine. If you just want take-out coffee and food, this is the place to go. I could happily grab food from here every day of the week and not run out of new things to try for a long time.

If you want to sit and relax or do some work, don't come here. The cafe is super cute, inviting and cozy. But as soon as you sit down there's a sign saying you're limited to an hour. Even the WiFi password reminds you of that fact (and the WiFi didn't even work). There are no dishes for dining in, everything's in paper/plastic.

They obviously don't want you to be in there, which is too bad. It made me uncomfortable so I left after finishing my breakfast, even though it was not crowded. I spend a lot of time in coffee shops working for hours on projects with no issues, but I won't come back...

Absolutely love this place! Hands down the best place for coffee and comfort food! The baked goods are always fresh and delicious. The quality of the food is top-notch, with every bite tasting homemade and full of flavor. Their biscuits and gravy are rich, buttery, and perfectly seasoned, making for the ultimate hearty breakfast. The potatoes with chile and queso are packed with flavor, just the right amount of spice and cheesy goodness. And don’t even get me started on their pecan oatmeal cookie 🍪 it’s the perfect balance of chewy, nutty, and sweet. The service is outstanding, friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick coffee or a full meal, you’ll always leave satisfied....
