I have visited all the Iconik stores in Santa Fe and I always have received a decent service. However, today I went to Iconik Red located at Cerrillos Avenue and I got the worst service.
I was waiting for my coffee, very relax and enjoying the place (because is a good place). Then, I saw that the BarWoman did call several people that order after me. I decided to go to the bar, and respectfully, ask for my coffee. This woman was very disrespectful, rude, and rough, rising her voice and saying: “it’s not my fault, I didn’t received any ticket with your prefer from de cashier”.
I didn’t replied, just wait for my coffee. She started preparing the coffee in a disposable cup, but I asked, at the beginning to the cashier, and now again to the BarWoman, for a pottery cup. She replied again in a very, very, very rude way: “ I don’t have any cup for here, just disposable cups”.
I just requested my money back. I tried to explain HER that I don’t like disposable cups, that I will try another Iconik place to find pottery cups. At that moment another extremely rude cashier-guy (with a gray winter beanie) told me : “what is the problem with Her, we are giving your money back!!!!”.
I was trying to explain to him that it is not a personal issue, that I visit a lot that place and Iconik in general, and that I just don’t like the flavor that the disposable cups used in Iconik have. He just invalidated my position, saying bad things and moving his hands like mocking me.
Terrible experience in a wonderful Saturday. Iconik must check the training for a good service of their employees. I am a regular consumer in Iconik, but this kind of employee broke the good vibes and energies that...

If you have any hope of getting something done here, or of just reading and relaxing, this is not the place. Still decent for socializing, I guess.
Edit 2: y'all, the music has gotten insanely loud again. I'm using good noise cancelling headphones listening to my own music and still hear the stereo system at full blast. Can we please set a limit on the volume so all baristas keep things more or less the same? It's impossible to enjoy your time here fully when your thoughts are drowned out by blasting music.
Edit: THANK YOU to whoever at Iconik actually took action on my feedback. Since writing this, I've gone back twice and the music was not only significantly improved (classic French pop and jazz one day, good alternative/indie the next), but the volume was significantly reduced, allowing you to stay for a while without inducing a headache! I have changed this to a 5-star rating as a result. Thank you for listening, Iconik!
Original review: This place would be perfect if only the music wasn't SO BAD. Doesn't anyone have decent taste in music? Can we get some classic Joy Division, Smiths, Cure or some modern indie or some alt hip-hop? What is with playing Foreigner and Journey? OMG this isn't sleepaway camp in the late 80s!! If it's meant to be ironic, it's not working. And since the music is played pretty loud, you really can't escape it. Otherwise, the seating, the service, the coffee are all great 👍 Please improve...
Read moreUntil recently, this was my go-to coffee shop when working remotely. I really like most of the baristas, as well as the FEEL of the place.
Unfortunately, a couple of issues proved too much to overcome. The establishment has two doors at opposite ends, and when one of the doors opens in cold weather, part of the coffee shop is flooded with Arctic air. It's incredibly disruptive if you're working. When I finally asked if the door could be locked in extreme cold to prevent the influx of chilly air, the barista I was speaking to had zero interest in what I had to say. He uttered something about how the door needs to be unlocked by law -- and yet I've seen that very door locked during windy conditions, to ensure dust doesn't blow into the coffee shop. So apparently that "law" applies when it's cold, but not when it's windy.
The other major issue here is the music. I counted six songs by The Eagles over a span of maybe three hours recently. I can't tell if they're trying to be ironic with the awful tunes, or if someone in charge has terrible taste. Local artists' creations are on the walls; why isn't music by locals played? Or jazz, or classical, or ANYTHING classier than overplayed hits from 30 years ago. And the music is played too loudly, disrupting both work and conversations. I was going to mention this second thing to the proprietors, but after enduring the I-couldn't-care-less-about-your-problems attitude of the barista, I decided to leave and never come...
