We were super excited to try this place for the empanadas. When we first got there, we were super impressed by the atmosphere, the greeter was super kind and let us pick our table. The waitress was super nice and attentive. The greeter (might be the owner?) brought us a tiny cup of soup to try before I ordered in case I didn't like it. We were super happy! Then we got our empanadas. I guess I didn't look at enough pictures, the empanadas were like minis. Kinda pitiful for the price. The waitress also showed us about how big they were with her fingers when we ordered, which wasn't accurate honestly. We got our food, we ate. I had to order more empanadas for my small children because 2 werent enough for each kid. Then we waited to order dessert.. we waited and waited. We never got water refills. Someone else, not our waitress, gave us our check and we said we wanted dessert. He looked confused and asked if we had been told about last call, and we said no. We also hadn't gotten our 2 extra empanadas. The guy who helped at the end was super nice. I then went to the bathroom and saw our waitress hanging out and drinking a beer with her buddies. She didn't even check on us at the end, or say she was done. She did say to have a good night when she saw me in the parking lot, but still not ok to just leave us hanging. The food tasted good, the flavor was great. But the portions were not fair for the price, in my opinion. The desserts we ordered were too small for what the menu said they were, specifically the banana pudding (I kinda understand the price because it's made in house) and the pie (which was WAY too tiny for the price.) the alfajorcitos were good and the price for those made more sense.
Not sure we would be back, honestly. The food was good, portions not so much. Service went from GREAT to meh. Empanadas are too small...
Read moreThis chic Argentinian place offers fresh drinks, hot coffee and tea. A slight bland-ness accompanies a great balance of traditional sazón. Our Menu: • Special- perfectly cooked cubed potatoes make the base for a crispy breaded-chicken “empanizada” with sunny side up eggs that provide a lava-like sauce when the yolk is cut. 8.5/10 • Breakfast Empanada- Chorizo, bacon, great cheese and a sturdy amount of scrambled eggs stuff the almost-undercooked and bland-ish empanada. Paired with a green mix, cucumber and tomato slices and two very friendly green sauces. 7.5/10 Drinks: •Peach tea- a well-balanced and aromatic hot tea, paired with lime and honey make a beautiful sweetness that is not overpowering. 9/10 •Dirty Chai Latte- Originally a traditional chai with a shot of espresso. Garnished with what I’ll confess, a little too much cinnamon and spices. Ordered with Almond milk, the spices missed the harmonious and elegant taste of a traditional chai. 4/10 Dessert: •Lemon Poppyseed bread- not too heavy on the taste and light enough to not feel overly full. A fun taste experience with moist, yet textured bread and poppyseed. 8.5/10 Price: around $50 for the above.
This is a detailed review of a great spot. Friendly staff, great outdoor seating with just the right amount of shade and a fountain melody to tie up the atmosphere. I personally enjoy Indian cuisine so I am partial to a well blend of spices. In sum, I recommend to anyone who’s looking for a brunch spot. It’s really great! And friendly to...
Read moreConsider this a 2.5 star review, not for the food, but for the poor service experience we had here. We were supposed to have reservations for Sunday, noon brunch as part of the “Your Art: Our Tables” contest, where my girlfriend (the artist) was awarded a $50 gift card and a seat at the table she designed. We were told to contact the owner directly to reserve our table, as it turned out, the owner is not in charge of the reservations, and did not communicate to her staff that we had reserved a table for Sunday, so we had to “be accommodated” in order to be sat. So throughout the entire time, we had people from other tables practically sitting in our lap at points during the meal.
When the check came and we mentioned the $50 gift voucher we were to receive as part of winning the contest, we mentioned to our server that she must not have been told by the owners about the artist gift cards, she then gave us a hard time about it and patronized us by saying “the email instructions must have been convoluted” and that “most of the artists just came in to get their gift cards and left”. The language of the email itself stated that the gift card would be ready and waiting for us along with our table, but that was not provided, we had to ask. The food was prepared nicely, but the lack of care towards what we thought was an important promotion for both local artists and the business left us feeling like an inconvenience to the staff and an afterthought during our...
