After 50 years of marriage, I lost my wedding ring. I was absolutely crushed and searched everywhere. At no charge, he lent me the duplicate of my new ring cast in silver that I could wear until my new ring was finished. I did not ask him, he just offered it up to me. My wife and I were deeply touched at his concern and meaningful offer. I returned the silver ring when we picked up the ring made with our parent's rings. My partner and I were given Marc's name while looking for a place to get the heirloom rings we had resized. The way the rings were originally made (and the very small size of them) meant that a simple resizing wouldn't be an option. We were looking for an LGBTQ-friendly place that would help us come up with a good solution for our rings. We liked what we heard about Reflective Jewelry's hands-on work and its ethical sourcing of materials was an added bonus. From the beginning Marc was incredibly helpful, patient, and thoughtful as we discussed what our options were given our materials and tastes. Though the whole process Marc was communicative, fair, and flexible around my tough work schedule that made meeting during normal work hours difficult. Neither I nor my partner had any experience with custom jewelry or jewelry making, and Marc helped guide us though pricing and why to make or not make certain choices. We ended up deciding to remove all the stones from the original rings, melt the platinum down to a new band, and reset the stones in new bands (the platinum band for my partner, the new bands for me). It was a total redesign, and the collaboration on settling on new rings was wonderfully personal and special. An extra shoutout to Marc and the team for dealing with our heirloom stones, that turned out to be hand cut and no two were the same exact size (but still making them look amazing!). I have two pieces of gold jewelry that are very dear to me, and were in need of repair: An insignia ring that I have worn daily since I was 15 years old (I'm 66 now); and my (blessed) gold cross, which I've worn daily since 1990. I took these two pieces to Reflective Jewelry on February 14. I was greeted by a young lady by the name of Felicia, who could not have been any more cordial, polite, happy, and honest. Felicia brought the jeweler who was to do the repairs, Dana, out from the back room so that she might take a look at these two pieces, then convey to me what she would do to make them right. Ultimately, Felicia gave me an estimate to repair both pieces, which totaled just over $172, and that they would be ready to pick up in two weeks. Yesterday, Feb. 28 (two weeks to the day), I received a phone call saying that my jewelry was ready to be picked up. Upon walking into the store, I was shown my jewelry. Both pieces looked like new! That being said, I fully expected the bill to be AT LEAST $200, if not more. I was handed an invoice, in the amount of $102. I cannot recall the last time that I approached a business to have something repaired, and the work was done ON TIME and at a cost LESS than the estimate.
