I ordered tom yum. They have tony asterisks on the dishes, so I guessed that meant spicy. Although there is no indication on the menu what the asterisks mean. The waitress said indeed that meant spicy, and I asked if I could have it not spicy. She said I could get it spicy, medium, mild, or no chilies at all. I specified no chilies at all. When the soup came, there were what I thought might be chili's, but they were brown, not red. I called the waitress, pointed to them, and asked her what they were. She said "oysters". Which did not make any sense. So I bit into one of those, to see what it was, and sure enough it was a super hot, I mean lethally hot, chili. And I must have swallowed some. I called the waitress. She again said something about oysters. I picked up the chili in my fingers, up to where she could see it, and I told her this is a hot chili. She could have seen before that there were these Chili's floating on top of the soup. But she was not observant, knowledgeable or professional. So, exactly what I was trying to avoid took place. These things are explosively hot, and I experienced the result at about 4:00 in the morning. And the next day. Frankly, I am irritated with the lack of competence and attentiveness at this restaurant. The soup was fairly good, after they brought me another bowl, but I would say too sour. And I've had Tom yum many times, including in asia. And prepare by my Asian wife,...
Read moreTo start of my detailed viewer I will start off with their water 4.5/5 , there water was very nice and cold tho the ice it was a bit tasting weird. The Chicken Sate was absolutely amazing, the crisp was excellent it was worth the price 6/5. The Mango Sweet Sticky Rice dessert was good too , but the rice was a bit too sweet for my taste there was a side of coconut paste which would make it a bit saltier, the mango was very yummy and chewy , the mint touch on top of the Mango Sticky Rice was very minty , For the Mango Sweet Sticky Rice dessert overall was 4/5. The side of rice was absolutely delicious but I prefer a bit chewier texture so 3/5. The bathroom was very lighted and I felt comfortable, the door lock was very hard to lock tho , the dryer wasn’t that powerful , they could’ve put paper towels for an option tho 3/5. The seating was nice , it was very dim tho and there was a bunch of flies bothering us they could’ve closed the door a bit 2.5/5 . The background noise was very silent, I think they could’ve added Thai music 3/5. The parking was very expensive tho 4/5. The staff was also very friendly , they were checking on us a lot 5/5 . Overall this place was okay that’s why I’m giving it a ...
Read moreI had decent food here years ago but tonight was a horrible experience. My 'bar' for Thai in Santa Fe is already low and this was still an epic disappointment. We asked the woman working if all the food we ordered was in the (to go) bag and she said it was. Untrue... -The brown rice we ordered for the curry ($3) was completely left out of the bag but we were still charged. -The Panang chicken curry was flavorful but they gave us shrimp instead of chicken and only four small shrimps in the entire curry order. -Pad See Ew (chicken) was bland, completely flavorless. -Thai Basil Stir Fry. We ordered the veggie option. This dish cost $17 and the tub was 1/3 full. Basically some steamed broccoli and limp cabbage. Less than 8oz of food in some broth and, again, $17! We are taking this back (which I've never done before). -The shrimp rolls were pretty much all tempura batter with mealy, soggy, flavorless shrimp. This fiasco of a meal cost over $90. There are much better options in Santa Fe. We will not...
