We initially found this quaint little gallery wine bar to be very appealing. The greeting by the women working there was cordial and we decided to stop back by in the afternoon to try the wine bar. While itâs very aesthetically appealing, the man working at the bar turned out to be a deal breaker. He was confrontational when we were trying to decide if we wanted to sit inside or out. Then he became condescending when explaining how it was just counter service, and we were to order and find a table. I didnât think there was any kind of order to finding a place to sit, especially when we were the only ones there. He was visibly annoyed that we were there, perhaps thinking we werenât going to order anything? Itâs hard to know. My friend actually called him out on his behavior and after that he changed his tune slightly. We got our wine ordered and then another group of four came in. They ordered correctly I guess because they were given table service by this guy. We shrugged that off but when we were leaving we literally had to walk past this man and the woman who originally greeted us, and neither said a word, such as thank you for coming in, have a nice afternoon, donât let the doorâŚ.. weâll needless to say not be returning to Ahmayo wine bar. Dustin, perhaps you can...
Read moreWent in on Sunday 9/28: The patio of this bar is very beautiful and they have a nice selection of wines. Unfortunately the service was terrible. When we arrived the bartender ignored us waiting at the counter for about 15-20 minutes while he cleared dishes. The bar was quite empty at this time so it was surprising. He walked past us multiple times without acknowledging us, or apologizing for the wait. It got so bad the group of 5 people in front of us just left. When he finally came to take our orders we asked him two simple questions about the wine. He gave very blunt one word answers and offered no descriptions or any effort to help us understand this wine. He seemed genuinely annoyed to have to help anyone. When I go to a wine bar part of what I am paying higher prices for is the ambience and having a bartender who is knowledgeable in wine. The service left such a negative aftertaste I...
Read moreAtmosphere was awkward and uninviting from the beginning. As we approached the storefront with an hour left until closing they were already rushing around taking down the signs and such. As we were given the flight we were told there were x minutes until they closed and that they wouldn't serve food. Felt very rushed and like I shouldn't be there even though it was more than enough time to enjoy some wine (we finished with over 20 mins to spare). They should move their closing time to an earlier time since they don't want to serve people at 5 pm. Wouldn't return or recommend. Parking is also horrible. We had much better experiences at other wine serving places throughout Santa Fe and ABQ. The atmosphere should be relaxing, comforting,...
