My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed with the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere.
To start, I ordered the New Mexico breakfast sandwich, and it was a flavor-packed delight. The combination of ingredients created a mouthwatering experience, although it was a bit spicier than I anticipated. The salsa on the side added an extra kick of flavor and complemented the sandwich perfectly. Just a heads up for those who prefer milder options!
Next, I tried the chiliquiles, and they were equally fantastic. The dish was bursting with robust flavors and a satisfying level of spiciness. It's important to note that the dish carries some heat, so it's great for those who enjoy a little kick in their meal. The blend of textures and the richness of the ingredients made it a truly enjoyable culinary experience.
Additionally, I had the pleasure of trying the pancake at The Pantry. While it wasn't the star of the show, it was still a decent offering. The pancake had a fluffy texture and was cooked to perfection. It provided a pleasant and comforting addition to the meal, rounding out the overall experience nicely.
The atmosphere at The Pantry was warm and inviting, with friendly staff members who provided excellent service. The cozy and casual ambiance added to the overall charm of the restaurant, making it a lovely place to enjoy a satisfying meal.
In conclusion, The Pantry in Santa Fe deserves a resounding 5-star rating for its delicious and flavorful dishes. Though some items, like the New Mexico breakfast sandwich and chiliquiles, can pack a spicy punch, they deliver an authentic taste of New Mexican cuisine. The welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot for locals and visitors alike. I wholeheartedly recommend The Pantry for a delightful dining experience...
Read moreMy daughter and I land in Santa Fe, rent a car and off we go exploring. She's already done the research and this place ranks pretty high so let's go! From the outside it looks like any other nondescript building but go in and BAM! it's bustling and a good vibe noisy. It's also small and cozy (think lulu's in larryville). We get a table for 2 and before we open our menus water arrives and drink order taken-WOW! there's alot of action going on with servers moving to and from with orders being taken and delivered. Folks! If your server is busy another server delivers your food! No waiting!!!!! ❤️ this! The menu offers something for everyone! I order the huevos rancheros with double beans (not a rice fan). 8 minutes (I timed it) later another server brings our piping hot (hooray) food. The beans are not mashed-they're still whole in a mushy sort of beany thing. I trepeditiously try a spoonful expecting the beans to be "al dente" (ugh) BUT NO! the whole beans melt in my mouth and they have kind of a cilantro and smoky taste. I hurry and eat mine before daughter asks to try them. (Hey, it's every man for himself). The huevos rancheros is divine! My over easy eggs contribute enough to the whole entree and they're just the right amount of breakfast spicy! Great atmosphere for a little place! Lots of Hispanic decor that's cheerful! Service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. I didn't have a margarita as it was morning however, had I been with BFF I'm pretty sure we would have had at least one. Besides, daughter and I were off to hike and I seriously didn't want to fall off a 100 foot cliff into a ravine. All in all: 5 stars for everything! Little place with...
Read moreWe are from MS exploring the beauty of NM and my brother (also from MS) highly recommended The Pantry for breakfast. Who else do you trust but family.... he was absolutely right! It was DELICIOUS, all 7 of us very much enjoyed our meals. We have a rule when traveling - try something new and try to eat what locals enjoy. This was a score! The kids get a pass on that rule, I mean just eat something... so they got smiley face pancakes with bacon and it was the first time they were quiet in about 3 days - they very much enjoyed them! The teenager got pancakes with eggs and bacon and she definitely put a dent in it. The rest of us enjoyed: breakfast burrito, blue corn cinnamon pancakes, a ham bacon cheese and tomato omelet, and scrambled eggs with spinach red bell peppers and bacon. The staff were amazing! When we got to our table it was set with a bowl of colors and coloring pages for the kids! They kept our glasses and coffee mugs full, entertained the kids, and made sure we enjoyed everything during and after our meal. This place was perfect for a Sunday morning breakfast before getting back on the road A+++!!!
Note: We got there around 9am and had about an 8 minute wait. As we were leaving there were people wrapped around the building!
Warning: Their "mild" chili sauce is pretty warm! The heat hits you after you swallow, it travels straight up your...
