Mi Gusto Es Restaurant — Restaurant in Santa Maria

October 29, 2023 I came again. My mom really likes the molcajetes so I took her out for one. It was good, but not as great as I remembered. The shrimp were much smaller this time and not deveined. We got a small piece of queso fresco and the chile lacked 2 levels of spice. It was ridiculously loud inside so we couldn't hear our waitress. She was nice and attentive but lacked common sense for refills on drinks, table chips, and salsa. When handing us our food, we knocked down one of our drinks and she never gave us a new one until I asked for it. When I went up to pay, the 3 pieces of extra shrimp were $7, she tried charging me for a whole bucket of beer when it was only one bottle, and she charged me for 2 drinks because the one that spilled was our fault. Not happy.

May 2022 Atmosphere: 1 star Service: 1 star Food: 0 atar No. No good. Came in, got seated on a dirty table that still had dishes on it and no one came to clean it until we asked them to. Then they wiped down the table with glass window spray, why? 4 waitresses would just eye ball us but not even ask what kind of drinks we wanted. I got a shrimp cocktail and it was defrosted and undeveined shrimp with tomato juice, nothing special....

Well it was almost closing when I arrived so the waiter was alone in the dining area and tired considering that he wasn't rude but then he wasn't telling jokes about how much tips he wasn't making and having to share half Of nothing to the cook and kitchen staff/dishwasher my food I took a few bites and got A Togo box , the food is really delicious and the Salsa Verde was awesome,Jose the waiter said that they made it all from scratch! well when I asked about sharing his tips with the cook he perked up pretty quick seeing that I hadn't sat down for the whole meal and he would have a little something, something to share with his good buddy the cook, THEIR SPIRITS SOARED and the SPIRITS WE POURED,THE COW JUMPED OVER THE MOON LITTLE BOY BLUE FELL OFFA THE MOON, LANDED ON “MY HUMPTY,HUMPTY” THE NOT SO END. hmmm”, would that be the beginning?“no” “no” the beginning of/middle of awesome DINNING EXPERIENCE! This was my first time going to the restaurant. The food was good . The service was aweful . My friend and I were standing for about 5 mins waiting for a waitress to seat us . They didn’t even acknowledge us . My friend asked if we can sit at a spot . They finally sat us down. When it was time to pay we were waiting for a long time for the check . We requested check with waitress literally took her 15 mins to give us the check . We had to ask again .Until finally she did . I was upset because waitress wasn’t doing anything she was just talking with co workers . All waitresses need training on how to be a better at hostess. They are not attentive .
