I order from them often. I always write in the "Delivery instructions" online to please not knock on the door and to just leave it outside my door as my roomate is generally asleep before work and I dont want to wake them with the loud knocking. I also leave a note on the door saying to just leave outside the front door saying to just leave it. I can also tell when the delivery guy arrives due to the online tracker and I can see them everytime they pull up as I work on my computer with the window behind it where I can see them, so its never been an issue getting my stuff. Ive never had an issue with dominos not following this instruction. Today however, after ordering online someone from Dominos called me on my phone inquiring about my delivery instructions and that they are not allowed to just leave it outside my front door (even though they have everytime ive ever ordered which is often). This was no issue for me however whoever called me (I assume the manager?) sounded really annoyed with me over my instructions. I said fair enough and understood and asked for someone to just call me then when they are here as I dont want to wake my roomate up with the knocking. The driver gets here, calls, and I open the door and he is talking loud as can be. I was very quietly talking to him and it was made clear I had a roomate asleep before my order was started and thats why I didnt want a knock/noise on my door and to just leave it at my door. My roomate was then woken up and then annoyed. Ive never had this issue when they just leave it at my door, now I cant order because they will wake my roomate up. So now I cant have dominos anymore because its always the times my roomate are asleep and the knocking and talking is always so loud. I just wish the driver spoke quietly like I was due to I specifically said when I ordered my roomate is asleep which implies I dont want noise but he...
Read moreAfter ordering two pizzas, a side, two 2-liters and some sauce, the pizza and side arrived on time and exactly to order. However the delivery driver was walking away when I asked where the drinks and sauce was - he said "oh right, one second", then left.
20 minutes later, I checked around and he was nowhere in the neighborhood. Called the store, was told to hold on, they contacted the driver and then a manager called me back about 15 minutes later. She informed me the driver claimed I was lying, he did give me my whole order. I explained how that wasn't true, and the manager was kind enough to send out the rest of my order with another driver.
20 minutes later, the manager calls me again, saying the driver can't find the place as it's a gated community. I don't live in a gated community. She goes to call him back, he comes up the stairs a minute later, hands me the rest of my order and leaves. Once I opened up the bag, one of the 2 liters was half empty having spilled everywhere in the bag.
I'm willing to forgive a mistake or two, but a driver calling me a liar to save his own face because he clearly just forgot to bring up the drinks, then not calling me about it and driving away, then being called a liar by management, then having the rest of what I paid for delivered half-empty and spilled is just too much.
Avoid this place, because every step in the chain...
Read moreBeing a national chain restaurant breeds a certain level of comfortable mediocrity Domino's seems absolutely comfortable providing again and again, and again. And for $8 for a large 3-topping, I seem particularly comfortable receiving again and again, and yet again. Something about cheap comforts, at reasonable quality levels, served with zero hostility from staff, that produces a well-train sense of satisfaction and contentment by all concerned, that tonight can't be reproduced by other chains seeking to do the same. Well done, Domino's
And an equal, distinct 'Bravo!' to this fine location on Clayton Rd in Concord. Your diligence in not seeking to excel any further than the lofty goals of the Domino's Mission Statement outlined earlier in this review, is simply unequaled by other franchises in this area.
Possibly your level of commitment to these deliberatively-too- low-to-fail objectives were taken to taken to their wild extreme and eventual outcome tonight, and if so, rest assured it was at least noted by someone somewhere, and namely me, in Concord, California, with my lowered standards so-never- disappointed Glee, so tonight's pie required no particular celebratory Notion of Wow to offend nor report. That's all I wanted for my $8 + tax + gas so I could pick it up myself... smugly. Nothing else + nothing more = good times...
