Shogun | Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Santa Rosa

12/16/2023 @ 11:50AM, For first visit to this Japanese eatery to try out with my sister. We both ordered lunch special bento box. Sister ordered beef teriyaki tempura combination, beef were processed meat "horrible" and tempura were not presentable and two sides in which first one is shredded lettuce with mayonnaise mix dressing "needs improvement" and one more side is lightly soaked in hot water tasteless beansprout. My order was tonkatsu thin sliced pork 1/4" thick breaded and deep fried were not too bad and kappa (cucumber) roll were a OK.

I wish could rate much higher score but cooking processed meat is not way to serve in prominent restaurant like Shogun. Also those two side came with box needs improvement. I have suggestions, visit Honey Cuisine in Rohnert Park and order beef, chicken or pork Korean bbq lunch special (for under 18 dollars) which comes with steamed rice and salad (it's a salad should be) with Honey Cuisine's house salad dressing (it's really tasty, one of best in Sonoma County Asian eateries) might...

Ordered online for pick up and the gentleman, whom I can only assume is the owner, was prompt and professional. He took my payment and he told me he would find me outside and bring me my order when it was complete. Not very long after he brought my order. Mind you, in the midst of this exceptional service was probably as busy as it gets at this location.

Now for the food. The food was still hot (and cool for the rolls) even after getting home. Everything was packaged incredibly. To the point that if anything drips or spills it was 100% your fault and not theirs. Alright, I have had many spicy tuna rolls and this is up there on my list of “Best Spicy Tuna Rolls”. I can not wait to eat the menu over as I continue to dine here.

Just had dinner at Shogun Japanese on Farmers Lane, Santa Rosa . It was myself, my husband, and our baby. Not only was the food amazing, but the waitstaff were exceptional. When we thought we would need to leave because of the baby so as not to be disruptive, the waitress offered to carry him around so we could enjoy our meals for a few minutes. Also, drinks were topped off frequently!
