Came in with my family on Saturday 2/22 around noon and they only had two servers. One server looked absolutely miserable doing her job and the other was our main server who seated and took our order while she was bartending and serving (she was a great server and was nice, welcoming, & so knowledgeable when it came to the menu)however the food was HORRIBLE and flavorless. We ordered the 4 person pitsmaster platter to give everything a try and it was extremely disappointing! First of all the bbq sauce (both original and spicy) tasted disgusting! when we told our server she said the owner used a recipe from the 1800s, smh! There was NOTHING to love about it or want want to try it again. The “homemade” hot links were so dry and tasted stale. The brisket was tender and juicy but lacking seasoning or flavor. The chicken was just NOT it. The ribs were rough and dry. The pulled pork was absolutely flavorless. Cornbread was cold and tasted like it was made days before but they give you a butter to go with it which did not help the dry texture of the cornbread. Macaroni was mushy (flavorless again) and the greens needed some more seasoning or something. (It’s like they are afraid to season or add flavors to the food) overall my family and I were not satisfied with the quality of the food for the price we paid (over $200) for the platter plus drinks. However the cocktails / mocktails we ordered & the French fries our 2 toddlers of the family enjoyed were the best part of our meal which is sad to say & out main server was nice but I felt bad because the quality of food she is serving while working for the restaurant is not good. We won’t be coming back which sucks because I had hopes a bbq restaurant downtown would have better quality with the competition of high quality restaurants in the downtown SR area. I think the owner has a lot to work on because I have had better BBQ in lake county and surrounding Bay Area BBQ restaurants before. DO BETTER...
Read moreMy family and I decided to dine here a few weeks ago for dinner. We were instantly greeted and taken out to the patio to be seated. All staff were fabulous, nice and attentive. Once we started looking at the menu we were very confused. The menu was very hard to read, some items were written on separate lines so it was extremely difficult to figure out what ingredients were in what dishes. We eventually had to ask the waiter for clarification. Once we all decided what to order they were out of a lot of different items.. which was odd since we went during the week and went for an early dinner. I'm not sure if it was an ordering issue, they were still cooking these items or what but it was very disappointing. Once we received our order a lot of our sides were missing. We each had to ask for our sides, even though they came out quickly I feel that each person's meal should come out complete. But the Major issue was the food. All the meats were extremely dry and extremely salty. Especially for me and I can handle a lot of salt and this was beyond anything I've ever experienced. I tried desperately to add coleslaw to my brisket sandwich, dip it in the BBQ sauce they brought but nothing helped. Everyone kinda just picked at their food and then all asked for togo containers. I asked the waiter for 5 boxes, he argued that we only needed 4 since their were 4 of us. I said I would love an extra for my coleslaw, he said no, just take the container it came in. Which I thought was odd. After that we paid the bill and left with not a good taste in our mouth overall. We will not...
Read moreRacist, rude, and hostile toward kids — avoid this place.
I’ve never written a Yelp review before, but this experience was so appalling I felt compelled to share.
First visit: We ordered carry-out, and they forgot our sides. Annoying, but we let it slide.
Second visit: On Kids Eat Free night, the waitress attempted to charge us for the kids’ meals and tried to pocket our cash. When confronted, she pulled the money out of her pocket. Shady behavior, but we moved on.
Third visit: This was the final straw. My two-year-old daughter was being a typical toddler—walking around, making joyful noises—in a loud, busy restaurant. The manager, with black hair and tattoos, came over to our table and reprimanded us for her behavior. After I took my daughter to the car with her grandma, I returned to address the situation calmly. The manager doubled down, falsely claiming that “five tables complained” and accused me of not trying to “contain” my child.
Meanwhile, I’ve witnessed white children in this restaurant running around, screaming, and being disruptive without any staff intervention. But my brown-skinned toddler exhibits normal child behavior, and we’re singled out and shamed?
This manager is a blatant liar, rude, and racist, showing no accountability for her actions. She made my family feel unwelcome and embarrassed us in public for doing nothing wrong.
Avoid this place. If you have kids or care about being treated with basic human decency, spend your...
