Decision to try something new was non negotiable to take family out to while visiting from out of town. Researched possibilities through Yelp and Eddie's was one of few venues open at hour we needed. Lucky us! Parking was convenient,we were welcomed by friendly hostess expecting us cause I called to ask if we could still come in even though we were running late and closer to closing time which was not a problem because of a large party of friends and family who had chosen Eddie's to celebrate their newly earned citizenship. Which btw is a glowing endorsement to be chosen to be the place to celebrate such a monumental event in their lives,in my opinion! We were greeted immediately by the friendly hostess who recognized my voice ,and seated us right away. The live edge slab tables were lovely, the servers were attentive ,our drinks always topped off. The seating comfy. The menu is simple but old world rustic. No American versions of so called Italian food here! Fortunately for us we understood the little pieces of bread were to be dipped into the beautiful light flavorful olive oil and balsamic vinegar in the bottles on table we are to pour onto and dip into the saucers provided. A ritual the waiter should take time to explain to the uninitiated who would otherwise be very confused as they might expect the bread course to be more like well ,bread sticks or french bread. He also needed to familiarize himself a little more with the different tastes of each item to better explain dishes that may read as similar. But overall it worked out just dandy. Everything was so wonderful even though one of the orders was wrong, my e immediately put correct one in. The pork chop meal I forget what it was called, second word started with V I think. I looked and smelled so wonderful I had him pack it up to take home to eat later. I bought it anyway ,the portion was huge and it tasted AMAZING!!!!! Everything was so very good it looked, smelled, and tasted Amazing! Every single item we ordered was delicious! And let me tell you my sister is picky as hell and she loved everything!!! It was her order that was miscommunicated and no hassle at all to correct. The chef did not rush it,he cut no corners on the quality of the dish he sent out and it was perfection! Well worth the wait. She got her tiramisu on the house for the (no)trouble. As we were waiting for Bill I noticed the cook/chef come from kitchen and asked waiter to convey my thanks he in turn came to our table. I expressed my gratitude for his efforts and appreciation for fixing the mix up. We engaged in conversation about the food and opening a restaurant during pandemic, how's business etc ,it was all very organic and added to the experience. It wasn't until we were ready to goo did we introduce ourselves did we discover we had been speaking to Eddie, the owner himself! Great guy! Best possible outcome for a much needed sit down meal with my family to show them how much I appreciate them. Nothing says that like a quality meal in a quality place. I plan on dining there every chance I get when I'm in Santa Rosa from Sacramento. The only thing I'd change would be the color of the walls. The paint should compliment the furnishings and vibe. Stark white walls does it no justice. Sounds silly but to some the aesthetics determine if they even enter a place. Whether you live in Santa Rosa or just visiting do yourself and your companions a big flavor favor and let Eddie feed you, you too will be a believer!!! Thanks...

Atmosphere We sat at the bar, where the staff was amazing and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed.
Drinks ordered champagne, beer, and wine
Foods Ordered
Osso Buco ($38.00) This dish featured a slowly braised veal shank served over saffron risotto. The meat was incredibly tender, and the saffron risotto provided a subtle, rich flavor that complemented the veal perfectly. While some might find the risotto a bit plain, it’s clear the intention was to let the veal shine without overpowering it. The simplicity of the risotto allows the delicate flavors of the braised veal to take center stage, making for a well-balanced dish.
Blackened Ribeye ($48.00) A well-seasoned 13 oz. ribeye topped with a butter port sauce. The steak was incredibly tender, with the sauce enhancing its flavors beautifully. The accompanying cauliflower and potatoes had a satisfying texture—slightly crunchy, not too soft.
Garlic Bread $12 I ordered the garlic bread and was disappointed. The garlic flavor was weak, and the cheese was lacking. They use the same type of bread as the regular table bread, which didn’t elevate the dish. I'd recommend sticking with the regular table bread instead.
Dessert
Crème Brûlée This dessert was pretty amazing. The sugar balance was perfect, and the sugar crust was just the right texture—not too hard. However, the garnish was slightly off, as. they were a bit heavy-handed with the sugar powder.
Vanilla Ice Cream It is a simple yet classic way to end the meal.
Overall Eddie's Kitchen delivered a solid dining experience with attentive service and well-executed dishes, especially the steak and crème brûlée. The ambiance is great, but I'm a little conflicted about the TV—personally, I'd do away with it to enhance the atmosphere. I also think there’s room for improvement with the bar display. They only offer wine and beer, which limits the drink options.

Spaghetti Carbonara I was told is very good. The Fettuccine Alfredo is a kid favorite. Brother had the bouillabaisse, which he thought tasted great, but wasn't very filling. The shrimp, clams, scallops, salmon, and calamari were very delicious, but he wanted more of each. He said he got 2 shrimp, 3 clams and a little bit of everything else. Soaked up the soup with bread, but was still not filling.
Sister had the chicken Marsala and Mom had the chicken piccata. I thought the chicken was a little dry, but the roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts were good. Mom said the chicken was half dry and half good.
The violinist was very good. Played a couple of covers we recognized. I recognized Zombie by the Cranberries, but I don't know a lot of song names. Very good. Violinist walked around and gave everyone in the restaurant a front row seat to the music.
Waitstaff is amazing and checked in on us multiple times. Refilled water without prompting which was nice. Refilled bread multiple times which was great. The olive oil and black vinegar went very well with the bread. I thought it was garlic bread until I saw the garlic bread on the menu. Very surprised. The table bread is amazing and surprised it's free. I would come just to have a drink and eat bread 😄🍞
Bathroom is clean, but the soap dispenser is a bit hard to press for a kid. Adults should have no problems.
