The restaurant seems to focus on " trying" to replicate a Italian Naples experience. The bar tv screen shows scenes from Naples ( I think) and some of the staff shouts out italian verbiage to add to the atmosphere. However putting the crowded touristic scenes from the TV aside. the comments on this restaurant are would be nice to take advantage of local seasonal markets. Bruschetta with " safeway" tomatoes was not good. Visited in August, peak tomato season in Sonoma and taking advantage of what the local markets offer would go a long way! wine needs to be screened through local offerings. Carrying Italian wines is great, but offering advise on some local wines that match or surpass the Italian offerings would be nice to know. the pasta lasagna offering is " Italian american" style very heavy on the tomato base. Not fresh tasting. More like a Mary's Pizza offering. The pasta may be made in house, but why hiden under a heavy dose of tomato paste. the pizza is interesting as they do push the envelope in toppings etc. However, the key is the crust and based on two visits they have not master how to get a crusty edge crust while keeping the base from becoming a wet flopping flour mess. Maybe it's the heat in the oven and the timing. but hope they eventually get it right as to service. eating at the bar you would think service would be constant. I know that some restaurants try to replicate the slow service pace you experience in Europe and Mexico. But in this case the lack of attention came across as dismissive. Maybe other needs kept the attendants away. Overall service was fair to poor.
In summary the restaurant does a fair job of trying to mimick a restaurant experience in Italy while living in Santa Rosa. That seems to be the focus. The food is good but not life changing and there other places that match or surpass. I wish that the focus on offering an italian experience atmosphere would be augmented by offering food and service that compliments that effort. PS - shouting out in Italian only...
Read moreL'oro Di Napoli is hands down my top pick for the best pizza in Sonoma County, and definitely in Santa Rosa. The crust is perfectly crispy yet soft, with a texture that truly stands on its own. You can taste the quality of their ingredients, and the flavors blend flawlessly.
The ambiance here is something special. As you walk in, the vibe makes you feel like you've been transported to Italy, with a charming faux-balcony overhead. Then, you spot the impressive pizza oven and know you're in for an authentic experience.
Their menu is extensive, catering to every taste, and the desserts look incredible—I’m eager to try the Nutella Pizza during dinner soon! They also offer dessert wines, along with a wide array of beer and wine selections.
But the food? It's simply unreal.
Primavera Pizza: Fior di Latte and cherry tomatoes, topped with fresh arugula, burrata cheese, prosciutto San Daniele, fresh basil, and extra virgin olive oil. Drizzled with their spicy oil, this pizza is one of the best I’ve had in recent memory.
Lasagna: Six layers of beef bolognese, Béchamel, San Marzano tomato sauce, and Parmigiano Reggiano. The lasagna is incredibly meaty and flavorful, with a home-cooked feel that's rare in restaurants. The portion is generous—perfect for sharing or saving room if it’s your main dish. It’s absolutely amazing.
Margherita Pizza: San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, basil, and EVOO. This classic pizza was a hit with both the kids and adults at our table. Add some of their spicy oil for an extra kick.
To top it all off, the service is exceptional. The staff offers great recommendations, has a personality that matches the inviting ambiance, and is attentive to your needs.

Read moreWe had a rather memorable meal tonight at L'oro Di Napoli‼️ From the incredible wood pizza oven to the welcome from our server in the lovely and inviting upstairs dining room, we were assured we were in for of a wonderful evening. The menu was full of so many great salads and pizzas and it was difficult to stick to our desired pizza when we learned about the special of the evening, Lasagna. We started with the Arugula salad with butternut squash puree, almonds, pecorino and orange mustard dressing. It was so fresh and yummy. I ordered a delicious Italian red and my husband had a great Cabernet, both were delicious. We saved some of our appetites for the Margarita pizza with Burrata. It has the most flavorful crust, with the perfect texture and chew. It was perfection. We decided to put some of the arugula salad on our bites of pizza and I highly recommend it. A Calabrian chili olive oil was ideal, drizzled over the pizza too. Our chef, the owner came by and asked how everything was. I couldn't stop raving about his food. I am looking forward to going with my girlfriends and family and I am so happy to have a new first rate restaurant in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County. Thank...
