Just to start this was a door dash order. The order arrived quickly with no delay. We ordered a chimichanga and a macho burrito and both were underwhelming. The chimi was basically slop stuffed into a fried tortilla with a messy topping of lettuce, cheese, a teeny tiny amount of guac, and a dime size portion of sour cream. Inside, the slop was mostly liquid beans and melted cheese with almost no meat. That would have all been fine if the order has been packed correctly. The chimi was on a paper plate wrapped in aluminum foil. The foil emparts a flavor to acidic food so the beans on the side tasted like copper. The cherry on top was the aluminum foil I got on the first bite. Nothing like chewing on aluminum foil. The macho burrito has much the same review. The flavor over all was bland with mostly slop on the inside. The slop was again liquid beans and smattering of shredded chicken. The chicken itself was ok but because the only other ingredient inside the burrito seemed to be beans it really wasn't able to have a flavor of its own, it just became stringy bean chicken, which was not only bad but confusing. The highlights of the meal were the pico and the bean dip. The dip we asked to be put in, and it wasn't on the menu, which was awesome of them to do. That earned an extra star. This is our second time eating there and the first was in the restaurant which was at least worthy of a four star review but this meal left a literal bad taste in our mouths. Brave the restaurant and do not order from a delivery service. Give the place the chance...
Read moreThis restaurant offers a menu challenge. Eat a big burrito in x minutes get it for free. I went I. And inquired if they could do it vegetarian. I was told very rudely and angrily that vegetarian burritos weigh less than meat and they wouldn’t do it. I asked if they could just add a bit more filling to make up for the weight difference and the man very rudely and confrontationally told me that I would have to eat meat if I wanted to order it. I was excited to try the challenge, so this was disappointing, but I was mostly shocked at his attitude at a simple question. I’ve eaten at their Petaluma location previously and was not really impressed. But was willing to overlook the overpriced food that’s just meh, in order to do the challenge which would have been fun. But did not expect to be treated so rudely. I will definitely never eat here again and will actively discourage anyone else from doing so. With so many good choices for top notch Mexican food in the area at better prices I don’t think there is any reason to...
Read moreMi Pueblo is a Mexican restaurant and bar located in downtown Santa Rosa on 4th street. It’s dim lit and windows are facing redwood trees. There’s parking behind the restaurant and along side the road near it. Both places you have to pay for the meter.
I had the albondigas soup and I absolutely loved it. Sooo good and tastes authentic! They also give 10% to those who work near them.
Unfortunately I did encounter things I did not like. For example, their pico de gallo. It was not authentic. It had no seasoning and if it did I did not taste it. Aside from their food their bathroom had smelled like body odor the evening I came in. That definitely made me lose my appetite so please change that because for this reason I won’t come back for a little while.
The waitress was polite and I did enjoy the seats facing out the windows.
I would try this place again just because the dish I ordered was so tasty! To my Sonoma county people, I say try this...
