Cotijas Taco Shop — Restaurant in Santee

They need to get their ingredients list correct.

Food tastes good, but they cant get their orders correct these last couple of months.

Exmaple 1: We asked for a Surfing California; they said they dont have it --okay, fine. We asked if the Surf & Turf burrito came with fries, and they said no. That's also fine. We ordered two. One came with fries and the other didnt,, but the fry one came with rice. Fine, we like rice. We Ordered it several times after that and they all came with a small amount of fries, and some rice. Great!

Example 2: Ordered the same burrito a month later and it came with an overload of fries, but NO rice. I called to say there was a mistake, but they were NOT amicable about it. I was told they all come with fries/potatoes, but DONT come with rice. Which is interesting because the last month they all came with both. They remade it for me bit required me to bring back the other burrito which they unhappily threw away. They even read off the ingredients list which DID NOT include rice.

Interesting, considering someone told me it did, TONIGHT, less than 2 weeks after someone read me a RICE-less surf & turf burrito list. (Example 3!)

Example 4: Come to tonight -- Ordered a burrito with no salsa & no fries, and they left out the salsa Fresca.

Example 5: Another issue recently -- We asked for real guacamole (not the watered down sour cream mixture) and still got the sour cream mixture, aka "American Guac". Disappointing.

Guess I'll just go to Bad Hombres where they can agree on the ingredients in...

Bummer this was one of my hometown go tos. The food isn't worth what you pay. My sister and I won't be returning. Last time I came the cheese enchilada was frozen in the middle. I asked if they could reheat it. Ten minutes later I'm still sitting at my table waiting. So I go up to the front counter and ask for it he goes "oh yeah," flopped it on the counter , went to my table- it was still cold! Shredded cheese not melted at all- super disgusting. Came back today because my sister wanted a carne asada California burrito. So, again two weeks later gave another shot at it. I even mentioned to the owner when I ordered, "Last time we came and ordered the taco cheese enchilada plate... the the enchilada was frozen inside. Could you please make sure it's warm and melted?.. maybe extra done?" He assured me it would be cooked and hot. Surprise! Today: Same thing. Cold in the middle- not cooked-horrible flavor. He smiled and told me, "That's okay you're the only one that's ever complained." Needless to say, I was so turned off by his rudeness I lost my appetite. And left. It's not even a nice ambience. The floors are dirty. Overpriced. We deserve better! LOL we would just come to support local Santee businesses like we enjoy doing for the worthy ones. Well not Cotijas anymore. I hope it was worth not being able to heat up and serve me a cheap premade frozen cheese enchilada. There are so many better Taco and Mexican food places in Santee good thing for that! We won't be...

This is my number one taco shop but if I have ever had a problem with the food i take it back and the 2nd time it comes out right I am not a big food complained but after working 12-14;he days or at the end of a long week u want your food to taste like u know it should taste and how they know to cook it so I stopped tonight and got only 3 rolled tacos usually I get 5 and 95 percent of the time they are on point but the last couple few times I have stopped in the rolled tacos haven't been how I know of them so I get my 3:rolled tacos go eat in my car the first bite I was like ummmmm.nope so I took them and ehuthen seconds my rolled tacos were upand in my head I said these are probably from the last batch so I took them back to my car too a bite spit it out and was like really wow then I lost my appetite wasn't hungry but I did go back to the window and showed them.lthat all 3;were still there and how disappointed I was and I threw them in the trash and walked off to my car. so I am sitting in my caf and they come out with some more and the one that brought me the rolled tacos out has always been so plrasent respectful says here no we made fresh ones for you I told him I was good which I really was I waant gungry afyrr the 2nd trip.

BUT DONT GET IT MESSED UP THIS IS STILL MY #1 TACO SHOP. BUT THEY DO DESERVE A 5 STAR...
