Clarification: I dont like giving 1, 2 or 3 star reviews but id give them a 3 in reality. I have a side business of my own and prefer to give them their flowers while giving them my true opinion so they can improve.
So I'm pretty disappointed with this place. The food is amazing but I swear, EVERY SINGLE TIME, something is wrong with the order. If it's not the cooks ruining a burrito by adding items to a burrito that doesn't have said item listed on the menu, it's issues with the cashiers. They close an order before I can enter my rewards info for the points. They're stingy with hot sauce and flat out deny you or give you nasty looks. Worst part, my friend (fernys didn't know this) was shoveling extra hot sauce into his bag. I called the cashier out and she looked like she saw a ghost... God forbid you tip them and they still find a way to make you shake your head. It's either a lack of genuine care for the people keeping them in business or they may be a little slow.
Shout out to the one cashier who is ALWAYS fulfilling orders correctly and is genuinely nice is the female cashier who has been there for years, shes on the plus size. I forget her name, but you probably know who I'm talking about if you've been coming here for awhile.
Either way, i know you don't care about one person's opinion in the grand scheme of things, but yall need to work on your people skills if you're going to work in the service industry. It's not like I ever hassled any of you or treated...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in today and were thoroughly impressed. Before I rate this, if you are reading this and wondering if my review is worth reading, I will assure you that I am a very good cook myself and am talented at making Mexican food from scratch, so I know what it "should" taste like. We ordered the chicken burrito, rolled tacos, and the fish rolled tacos. The chicken burrito was the perfect size, the chicken was very tender and seasoned perfectly. The rolled tacos were standard, and my wife was pleased with the fish rolled tacos. Most impressive was that the price was inexpensive for the amount of food and the quality. The woman who helped us, was proud of her salsa bar and I soon understood why. Every salsa, (6 to choose from) was perfectly balanced and just plain excellent. Also, the same woman who I assume was also the owner, was so friendly and made us feel very welcome (being Gringos) We live in Linda Vista and we will gladly make the trip to Santee to visit Ferny's again. We are glad we stopped in on a whim. I hope anyone reading this stops here and gives them a try. One last thing, I don't usually write reviews, so this had to be pretty good for me to sit down and write down...
Read moreMy buddy lives in this area and I am very glad he had taken me here. Ferry’s seems like there are always customers around which was very promising. They have a relatively simple menu but still have plenty good options. The first time I had gone here I ordered Ferny’s Burrito, which is very similar to a California Burrito, 3 Flautas and Flan. The burrito was great and the flautas were delicious and crispy. Their items are perfect portions, possibly a little bit big but in no way is that a problem.
I came here a second time and got the #2 combo, which was a taco and beef enchilada. Both items were beef but you can ask for different meat in the taco. Once again, good portion and tastes amazing.
There is plenty more to say but for now, their Flan is SOOOO GOOD!!! Both times I when I ended up getting the last piece. I was super lucky and ordered it even though I kinda felt bad because it apparently seems popular. The Flan is super creamy and has so much flavor it’s unreal.
I will be back and will give an update or just post more pictures!
… only 1 complaint… why is there cheese on the taco and not cilantro...
